Signing up for the email newsletter gets you a 24 slot bag if I recall correctly.
There are a few achievement collections that will get you some bags. Namely "Lasting Bonds" from LW4 Sandswept Isles gets you a 32 slot bag at the end of it. "Bandit Weapon Specialist" and "Uncanny Canner" both get you a 20 slot bag.
Besides that you can purchase bags with up to 20 slots on the trading post, there's a bunch of different types that will sort your loot into them automatically. Bags bigger than 20 slots have to be crafted and it gets pretty expensive past like 24-28 slots. 32 is a luxury for the most part. Most of my bag slots are filled with 18 slot Mithril Boxes which are like 2.5 gold each.

Fashion templates will help with that in like 6 months. Just focus on building your account in other ways for now while maybe saving a little for the swimsuit. If you have LW4 I really recommend that "Lasting Bonds" achievement collection for the free 32 slot bag. It's also a type of bag that sorts openable loot bags into it which I find really handy to help sort loot after playing for a bit.

Warrior has best axes by far. Warrior swords suck. Warrior GS is.. well, it's interesting. 3 and 5 are really great movement skills (practically required parts of the old wvw kit). 4 is decent. Arc Divider is FANTASTIC, a true obliteration move. But all of this is weighed down by the mockery that is GW2 100b. For years it's been enough to invalidate the overall functionality of the weapon to me. They gave it a significant damage buff lately, but it's still one of the most annoying skills to have to use in the game.

But if you like axes, warrior is absolutely the stuff dreams are made of. GW2 warrior axes are SO GOOD this game is responsible for shifting my internal oc donut steal character designs in my head, I no longer dream of sword waifus, I now dream of brutal axe waifus.

I'm not sure to what extent not knowing the story annoys you or interferes with completing maps and dungeons. Don't think there is any solution other than doing related story bit, before exploring the map.
LW1 is probably the biggest chore to do out of them all. last chapters also require a group to complete. Overall doing its own thing and skippable. LW2 sets up many characters, has a bit better pacing than 1, but still drags on and dated. All the other LWs a on the level of expansion, mb better in places.
Most of the legendries, especially story trinkets are just a motivator to 100% maps and try different game modes. Open world pve is very much like collecting everything in old platformer games. BlishHUD with waypoints addon helps collecting shit and doing puzzles and stuff immensely. You still will need to do it tho. I usually just play and check if any legendries are near completion, then finish up the specific requirements when the mood strikes me.
Revisit your build, all classes can be extremely efficient for pve story content and breeze through encounters if build right. This will cut down time waste fighting trash mobs drastically.
Try to get into fractals and strikes, they are self contained, very fast, and great gold, so you'll be able to buy a lot of shit in the market. I don't know story bits from all of them
Pvp/wvw is also there, mb you'll find them fun and it's arguably the most efficient way to get resources for legendary crafting. You can skip a lot of grindy achievos for trinkets by doing a related battle track too. No need to complete whole map, just get the reward item as last track reward.
But overall yeah GW2 is grindy and big items like legendries are months long endeavors, almost meditative to acquire and mostly for prestige.

I know dungeons are dead content but I've been doing them to get free exotics and maybe learn some boss mechanics, but gotta say a lot of times the mechanics make no sense to me and someone in group has already finished it, portaled and skipped 300 mobs if I try to actually do something. In a lot of cases, yes. Players will often do skips if they can or rush through the content for their dailies. There are four tiers of fractals and you start out at 1, which only requires a little bit of agony resistance at fractal 20 and above. So like, two or three pieces of ascended gear with agony resistance put in (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Agony) and you should be good to go.

Tier 1 is nearly braindead tier outside of a few fractals introduced later in the game, like Silent Surf, Lonely Tower, etc. Doesn't necessarily need roles for the vast majority of tier 1.

As you move up in fractals you'll need to eventually get full ascended with about 150 agony resistance by the time you hit T4, and you'll need to fill a role (dps, boondps or healboon). T2 is pretty easy as well but T3 is by far the hardest tier, because this is where the shitters usually congregate. Once you get to t4 that's when you'll start making worthwhile money while generally breezing through the fractals.

Summary: you can start t1 fractals now, learn mechanics, etc. Best bet is to advertise a t1 party, say "first time doing dailies" and have the party guide you through it.

It spawns on rotation. Once you know the route and timing, you just need to run in circle to catch all the bridge event. You can finish the achievement in one or two cycle of dragonfall because it's a repeatable event.

I've been rolling over everything as core axes warrior even without berserker unlocked. You do just press buttons and win, crazy stuff.

Probably not gonna be tanky with gs, but you can negate a lot of damage with various mesmer abilities with chrono (distortion, spear 3, well of precognition, continuum split). I haven't really touched mirage since they gutted ambush gs, those fuckers.

I use a slight variation of this in open world but I never use gs in actual endgame content, dagger + sword is so much better.

I swear Deepstone is such a noob filter. A few years ago I ran a no-heal group because I saw the non-CM dailies were easy and wanted to try it out. This esl retard complained non-stop about the lack of healer even though the group was advertised as such. When we got to the final boss of deepstone this same retard was dead on the floor before the first orb had finished bouncing. Literally less than 5 seconds. And of course, he was a reaper.
He doesn't get to blame ping either because I'm playing with just as much lag from Australia and I was doing just fine. That memory has always stuck out to me whenever I see !esquadro starto! or whatever gibberish their ready check says.

I saw plenty of the same crap with Dragon's End. Getting up early to do a morning run with the "americans" had a 50% success rate, meanwhile I never failed an attempt when playing at night with other aussies.

It’s a spec you can do *okay* on with high ping. Camping greatsword and auto attacking in shroud is an easy 30k dps. Problem is it’s difficult to optimise because the proper out-of-shroud rotation doesn’t use a single auto attack which is damn near impossible.
If you want an ez mode build just play power scrapper and condi mech. The new bomb kit is nuts and is way easier to use than the grenade kit.

If you do story as it comes up, don't try to complete every zone after out-leveling it and at max level mostly try out dungeons and open world events that's 60 hours max. 100% maps takes a bit and is a chore by modern standards. You can get some end game upgrades, which are mandatory to get playing full version as well.
Also you will see other players be on cool dragons and shit, while you doing cardio all over, this will most likely piss you off if you try to stay f2p for a while.

There are fewer range classes than melee and even less ranged casters. As in stay in the back, throw fireballs, keep away, artillery range. Open world, semi-solo you can do whatever, and make ok-ish range casters from some classes. In coop you are expected to group up at one spot close to the mob, due to how buffs work. You still can sit back and shoot in majority of open world events, but people will much less likely to heal/buff/resurrect and overall help you. GW2 has a unique approach to combat, class and roles vs most mmos. Tanks and healers are rare and used in specific places.
I'd compare rhythm of combat to how it looks like in John Wick movies. You start with range and keep using it when convenient, but you still end up in gun-fu close quarter melee, with lots of dodging, blocking etc. A thief has a dedicated sniper class for example, that almost roots you in place, yet you still end up sitting right near bosses. Caster are much similar.

What world v world tracks are generally good to finish

Troubadour has got to be the most low effort thing they have done in this game.

Because parsetroon-ran sites like metabattle will mislead you with tryhard builds that only really work for robotically efficient players. Don't worry, every profession can do every role. Depending on what you want to do you have to pick a specific elite specialization, rangers that want to heal for example would use druid (the Heart of Thorns elite spec).
The elite spec choice isn't permanent either, you are free to switch between druid and the two other elite specs whenever you're out of combat.

The skyscale is slow and clunky, I honestly find it kind of frustrating to use. Moving any real distance with it feels stupid. The way it gets stuck on walls, sometimes ones you aren't even actually touching, is annoying as hell. Actually flying, ie with the griffon, takes a bit of skill and is really fun.

As an aside I remember the shitstorm that came around in GW1 when assassins were introduced and they could blink past bodyblockers and melee pressure backliners. It all seems so quaint now. I have no idea why GW2 stealth is so fucked up, it never feels correct on a class like Ranger to come out of stealth and just instagib someone on a spec that's also only second to spellbreaker when it comes to point defense.

Sure, there aren't many good uses for laurels. Most practical are infusions and Ascended crafting recipes. You can extract it later if you need it somewhere else. Accessories are ok too early on, especially if you don't have LW where you can farm them easily.

If you're trying to pick a good reward track for it, the relevant ones are probably
- Gift of Battle because you need 5 of them in total per Conflux
- Guildrider Warclaw Skin which you have to buy for 200g but gives you a free 250 Skirmish Tickets (Skirmish Tickets are sort of capped weekly so this is the main bottleneck of Conflux), plus the mount skin, 7 Clovers, a Black Lion key, and some other small stuff
- Nonrepeatable tracks in general which will give you a lot of Mystic Clovers. Drizzlewood gives 14 Clovers, Bjora Marches gives 11, Grothmar Valley 9, and most others give 7

Necro. You get a giant HP pool and then Core and Reaper get a second HP pool on top of that with their Shroud. Guardian is pretty sturdy, but they have the same base HP as Thief and Elementalist so even as a heavy armour class they can be kind of fragile if you aren't keeping up defensive boons (which you're probably not doing yet if you're getting downed a lot against non-Champions). Reaper also does a ton of damage, provides self-Quickness for free, and is brain-off easy.
