They are less dense (outside of jinzhou), but they are generally larger and with faster expansions. The design philosophy is different as well, wuwa maps are generally focused on supporting the main story creating a place that makes sense, while genshin focuses more on having puzzles in general but not very believable (no logistics, roads, fontaine doesn't have proper ports, no signal of civilization outside of small villages...).

In Genshin's case, they added even more useless 5-stars to the standard banner like Dehya and Mizuki which are waaay more useless than the older characters with the same element which are Jean and Diluc. They did this after their banner flopped to pad the standard banner out.

Story indeed got better in 2.0 but it's still fucking terrible. It maybe went from 3/10 to 5/10, you anons need to read more or just watch some good tv/anime/whatever

Then there is an abolute lack of stakes, not a single fucking death and literally no sense of growing bond between characters. Rover comes up to a waifu #134 and they are immediatly in love making lone men feel all fuzzy, that is until next patch when she is discarded to make way for waifu #135. Rinse, repeat. No bond & housing system makes every interaction with waifus feel cheap, they have nothing to offer once you finishg their quests

I really like this new gen gacha games for collectathon aspect and it's really satisfying to gather gems and spend them on a character, and then pulling it early but every fucking time i hear about some gacha slop having great fucking story i just roll my eyes.
