The fact is you can't use current patch data for volibear vs morde matchup because lolalytics says its not statistically relevant at Masters+ and hence wont show it (i believe it needs to be either 100 or 200 games). The fact is also volibear creates a strong gank opportunity due to the fact he has a stun and a slow and towerdiving power while also being in a snowball matchup makes it the logical choice for your jungler. They do suffer from a lack of vision but the core problem is simply that their success wasn't due to talent but due to luck (well managed luck but luck after all). League was a game that managed to be exactly in the right spot at the right time and they actually deluded themsleves into thinking "nah, we must be this good" hence why they suddenly decided to jump into making dozens of games in different genres and only one managed to somewhat stick the landing (Valorant, and then again Valorant is really only played in large numbers in NA which is the smallest of the "big" regions).
League will still keep them funded for probably a decade just off popularity in Asia but it's clear Riot have no plan and right now they're just content to drag along the decline. They've cancelled every game in the horizon, 2XKO is dead on arrival due to delays, the MMO is never coming out, Arcane is over and League continues to diminish.
I feel they're trying to mimic Blizzard and just become a pretty much dead developer content to keep up with their whales but I don't think League + Valorant holds a candle to WoW + OW2 + Diablo. But we will see, either way it's pretty clear this company is dead when it comes to new ideas or releasing games.
