There's several different variants floating around. Zyasunn has been experimenting with them a lot and tweaking his lists every day. But the core idea is you run 0 1pp and 2pp followers to avoid polluting your reanimation pools, and instead rely on strong 3pp and 4pp followers for the early game.

this meta in particular is definitely not tanoshii, matches are either too short or too long
either you play aggro and win/lose early on, or you play midrange mirrors into turn 12 or lose to coc dclimb vs rune after they endlessly stall you with the most efficient clear and healing in the game

Is there a deck in Shadowverse that have the least awkward hands? I ask this because I'm new but I've been playing for a while and I went with Artifact Portal and more often than not I get hands that are just awkward like having too many Artifacts but no Artifact cheaters and vice versa. Sometimes I'm literally just praying I topdeck my Artifact cheaters out, assuming I haven't already played my artifacts raw just to have a board presence, and in which case I do, my artifact cheaters then have no artifacts to cheat out. Idk I know it's just the rng nature of card games and Artifact portal is supposed to be meta but this perceived volatility is frustrating. I feel like I'd rather play a lower powered deck that just feels nice to play. Or maybe that's just every deck in Shadowverse?

Vengeance never once in Shadowverse history worked properly and for obvious reasons, the mechanic is inherently asymmetric by match up meaning it'll always be cancer on the meta game since it it's remotely good it just shuts out a ton of decks from playability. No one has even every managed to come with with a hypothetical fix for it that didn't fall apart immediately under any scrutiny.

It's not a matter of being too good. Vengeance was a horrible mechanic. They managed to balance much more complicated mechanics throughout the lifespan of the game but vengeance never worked out. It was constantly ignored in deck building or cheated around and would warp any meta game it became a part of do that every single deck had to play around it.

Wrath and Avarice were better and will probably return with adjustment but would still be incredibly swingy. Blood in general was bouncing between busted and unplayable way too often.

If you have to ask this question then no, you should save for the battlepass.
The gem for pack deals are a bait or something you spend your 500 gems on after you spent 5000 on packs before.
The only low spender options you should ever consider are the BP and the 16$ pack and the 40$~ packs with 3 free legos and 3500 vials.
