I recommend angle foregrip with laser sight as you'll always be charging the thing so vertical isn't worth it, the laser sight moves teammates out of the way from targets so you don't friendly fire

its a fixed grenade launcher with a 60 round mag and a half cover height wall. the wall itself does fuckall for the most part, except maybe on bots where it soaks the occasional laser bolt for someone else. it is difficult to use the entire thing in one place unless you immediately drop it to face the direction of a breach or drop. works best when you have your team, a turret, or a flying dog to cover your flanks. it has a low cooldown so its not too crazy if you don't use the whole thing.

Low cooldown means you can spam it pretty often which is nice. I think it's better than people give it credit for just for that alone, but that doesn't change the problems other people brought up where if you get swarmed it's useless because you're going to be forced off of it. If you use it proactively to start engagements I think it's pretty gud.

Absolutely not. The only thing the Purifier is better at is ammo economy, and that comes with a ton of horrendous caveats obvious to anybody who's used both. The Purifier has unpredictable spread on charged shots, plus getting flinched after charging and firing is ass, and the Purifer is rapid fire OR explosive shots -- the Scorcher is rapid fire AND explosive shots. Literally the only downside of the Scorcher is it gobbles ammo. In terms of DPS, they're both the same when you factor in the Purifier's charge time.

Not true. The purifier's uncharged shot does have AoE.
The scorcher does 100 projectile damage and 100 explosive splash in a 1 meter inner radius and 2 meter outer radius
The purifier's rapid fire uncharged shot does 100 projectile damage and 75 explosive damage in the same 1 meter inner radius and 2 meter outer radius.
Also it should be said the purifier's uncharged shot is AP3 while the scorcher's projectile is only AP2

It's just that it's too big now. So many shots that would miss everything by miles will still hit it. This was supposed to be a bandaid fix for the DSS map wide orbital 380 barrage "feature" that they have since removed. If they made it smaller again it would be much more useful. Giving it any armour value like even AP1 so small arms fire didn't damage it would make it much better too. Its real use case is protecting your sentries so it doesn't need to be big. It just needs to cover the rock you've put them on so they don't get instantly blasted. If it caused chargers to thump into it and stop if they're charging it would be absolutely insane for turret builds on bugs too.

HMG is a gun that gets better the more you use it with a considerably high skill ceiling. Very fun and rewarding, and can solve nearly everything and be useful in every scenario. You can't be ragdolled off it, so if you run heavy explosive resist armor you can really entrench yourself in which is good for squids and bots. Depends on what you're looking for. Force of law isn't very good as a whole, but I consider the armor passive to be the best option for survivability in the game.
Masters of ceremony has decently useful armors, diligence 2, some meme items, and the most versatile grenades in the game which you get six of by default.
Servants of freedom is probably the best all-rounder. The grenades and armors suck (but look cool), but you get the strongest assault rifle in the game provided you build for it, a secondary that deletes heavies, and the hellbomb backpack for when you really, really hate jammers. Or breaches.

The variable also does things no other assault rifle can do with its volley and total mode.
