I recommend angle foregrip with laser sight as you'll always be charging the thing so vertical isn't worth it, the laser sight moves teammates out of the way from targets so you don't friendly fire

its a fixed grenade launcher with a 60 round mag and a half cover height wall. the wall itself does fuckall for the most part, except maybe on bots where it soaks the occasional laser bolt for someone else. it is difficult to use the entire thing in one place unless you immediately drop it to face the direction of a breach or drop. works best when you have your team, a turret, or a flying dog to cover your flanks. it has a low cooldown so its not too crazy if you don't use the whole thing.

Low cooldown means you can spam it pretty often which is nice. I think it's better than people give it credit for just for that alone, but that doesn't change the problems other people brought up where if you get swarmed it's useless because you're going to be forced off of it. If you use it proactively to start engagements I think it's pretty gud.

Absolutely not. The only thing the Purifier is better at is ammo economy, and that comes with a ton of horrendous caveats obvious to anybody who's used both. The Purifier has unpredictable spread on charged shots, plus getting flinched after charging and firing is ass, and the Purifer is rapid fire OR explosive shots -- the Scorcher is rapid fire AND explosive shots. Literally the only downside of the Scorcher is it gobbles ammo. In terms of DPS, they're both the same when you factor in the Purifier's charge time.

Not true. The purifier's uncharged shot does have AoE.
The scorcher does 100 projectile damage and 100 explosive splash in a 1 meter inner radius and 2 meter outer radius
The purifier's rapid fire uncharged shot does 100 projectile damage and 75 explosive damage in the same 1 meter inner radius and 2 meter outer radius.
Also it should be said the purifier's uncharged shot is AP3 while the scorcher's projectile is only AP2

It's just that it's too big now. So many shots that would miss everything by miles will still hit it. This was supposed to be a bandaid fix for the DSS map wide orbital 380 barrage "feature" that they have since removed. If they made it smaller again it would be much more useful. Giving it any armour value like even AP1 so small arms fire didn't damage it would make it much better too. Its real use case is protecting your sentries so it doesn't need to be big. You can't be ragdolled off it, so if you run heavy explosive resist armor you can really entrench yourself in which is good for squids and bots. Depends on what you're looking for. Force of law isn't very good as a whole, but I consider the armor passive to be the best option for survivability in the game.
Masters of ceremony has decently useful armors, diligence 2, some meme items, and the most versatile grenades in the game which you get six of by default.
Servants of freedom is probably the best all-rounder. The grenades and armors suck (but look cool), but you get the strongest assault rifle in the game provided you build for it, a secondary that deletes heavies, and the hellbomb backpack for when you really, really hate jammers. Or breaches.

The variable also does things no other assault rifle can do with its volley and total mode. The laser sentry works okay as a complement to your dps. It does need a larger heatsink and it shouldn't waste its energy on enemy hardpoints. It also has pre 60-day-patch health values. But, like the variable, it does shit no other turret can.
As for the tired LC/Quasar infinite ammo argument, the LC is balanced by its low durable damage and the Quasar by its cooldown time and slightly worse damage to RR. If facing down a factory strider, I'd rather have an epoch or RR than those other weapons.

The HMG basically solves the entire faction short of Fleshmobs. Scorcher can burn down a fleshmob pretty quick, as can AC on flak, airburst launcher, and a few others. Gun dog makes overseers disappear.

Overseers have ablative armor. Just magdump into them. If you have a heavy pen weapon then it can bust their heads open if your aim is good; the Senator in particular will just canoe their shit.

The main gimmick with squids is that they don't require heavy pen or AT; medium is all you need as long as you know weak spots.

Big chunks of HP. Magdump them with high DPS weapons. They have no armor to speak of so whatever you like that's fastest.

Ablative shell over soft bits. You can take one down by magdumping it in the chest with a lib or libcarbine. Heads are medium armor and pretty difficult to hit so if you aren't snoipin' then just click and hold center mass.
>Harvesters
The shield makes them a bit of a fuck for normal AT. You have to pop it first before you hit them with anything big. Heavy or medium pen is enough to take them out if you aim for where the legs attach to the body. Technically the eye is light armor but it's not worth shooting at unless you're blasting it with the new volley gun (which can kill with a full mag).

Med pen again. Can be downed with almost anything.

My preferred support weapons on squids are the WASP and HMG. MMG is good too but my friends are allergic to dealing with heavies so it's usually my job.

I find it takes an annoyingly long time to kill Harvesters compared to max RPM HMG but I agree it's better otherwise. I'm pretty much always rocking Engineer Kit or Fortified anyway so the recoil is not as big a deal for me as it might be for other playstyles.

The fact that you can pay for super credits means that they're incentivized to make the super credit grind just long enough to get you to pay (without being so long it causes people to complain en masse).
