Why does Facial Animation do head replacement instead of just drawing eyes on top of vanilla heads as a base? Using the Mortar Accuracy mod though I lowered the numbers a bit to make it less cheaty. Tribals have zero armor though so they die from mortar really fast if you fire 10+ rounds into the group. Obviously you need more than 1 mortar to cause meaningful damage before they decide to start their raid.

The stat page says 100% is the max contribution for these parts but I'm wondering if any "spill over" kicks in and helps when other things reduce a stat. Bionic parts cannot be severed.

The big downside to bionics is that they don't feel pain. This means they fight past the pain threshold, meaning they don't get downed. This is bad because they will simply just die on the spot instead of get downed and have a chance to be rescued. The only pawns I would consider full on bionics are those with deathless gene or if you can revive that pawn with resurrector.

Also avoid brain implants because EMP will knock them out too.

Not that anon but I usually do the blindness psycaster meme with ideology to gain psycast levels once I unlock bionic eyes or if you have the anomaly DLC you can get a healer. The blindless ideology has a sacrifice ritual that cuts out the eyes and if it's satisfactory they gain a psycast level. They lose their eyes, but then install a bionic eye or heal them and do the sacrifice again. It also has no time limit so you can do it over and over again and have a colony full of psycasters. Also a psycaster is stronger without eyes too.

This way you can gain level 6 in no time without the annoying title requirements royals have and you can just reform out of it later.

Psycasts should be added to basegame with rare ruin-found neuroformers and a small amount of base powers (with the bulk of fun/good ones behind royalty), then each expansion adding new relevant casts. It's a great mechanic but they keep reinventing the wheel instead of revisiting it. Space alone should have had casts to apply vacuum resistance or add temporary breathing. And I'm not fond of blindsight being the only non-tribal way to lean your ideology into psycasts

If you designate a grow zone but disable sewing pawns will harvest/cut trees but only when they're 100% developed.
You can also set up an animal pen and use the auto-cut feature, I think. Just enable everything to be cut and remember to enable the feature itself at the top of its configuration window.
The issue there is fences provide limited cover and you'll have to disable all animal types from being held in the pen unless you want them wandering around in front of your turrets.
As others have said, paving is probably my favorite solution. I usually throw down some flagstone.

What's the performance impact of grow zones and area zones? I know from my programming experience having to iterate through nested lists is pretty costly, like I'm imagining dozens of pawns constantly being checked if they are within a cell or not to determine if they can path somewhere is going to crater performance instead of simply leaving everyone unrestricted.
