Mike, it and any potential entity behind it, may or may not be the same entities behind the whole knight + kris conspiracy bit and / or something involving the prophecy.
I'm pretty sure that it was included in chapter 3, a chapter otherwise at times considered lacking in major substance, because it will become more and more evident that the literal microphone.jpg that the player / kris can see at the end of the Mike fight is either Mike itself or a literal microphone metaphysically present in the darkworld / lightworld and constantly monitor Kris' actions. How else would the phone entity know that Kris was about to jump out of his window / do whatever at the end of ch 4? They're probably not the kind of entity to constantly be within a few miles of their subject just to monitor them, they probably have other shit to do and need a microphone / camera to constantly track their lacky.

judging by the state of kris and asriel's room (EXTREMELY obvious favoritism), the dreemurrs would be hit kinda hard, but ultimately move on and continue with their lives. i do not know if asgore would fall into the same obsessive pitfall as he has for the dessappearance, as we don't know the concrete details of the dessappearance; his need for proof could be a function of the fallout (he got fired and he wants to make everyone happy and nice again), and not necessarily out of personal need (a desire to do the right thing/do right by dess' memory). if asgore does get obsessed, his relatiomship with toriel would likely become tumultuous as his grief consumes him, but i can't see him getting fired (thus putting financial strain on the family - worsening the relationship further) either way, so i don't see a divorce happening.

Kris is the one that actually disappeared years ago. Dess fucked up somehow while they were messing around with the shelter's dark world and lost her body. Kris gave her theirs to save her.
