That wasn't a problem in previous expansions, because there are always players who want to get ahead with professions asap. These guys were usually buying your entire supply almost instantly. It's not like i have multiple gathering bots with tens of thousands of herb/ore stacks for sale.
Selling like 5 stacks a day was never a problem during the first week of new (old) expansion. Now it is. Can't even sell 1 stack. Not even one single piece of one stack.
The only reason why this time it's different is MoP craftable gear is absolute dogshit and it is not worth it to level crafting profs early. Or because it's exclusively a group/guild effort now. If it is the latter then these guilds don't have to rely on AH at all anymore. The only question is why didn't they do it in wrath and cata already.

Timeless Isle was one of their first attempts at the content "island" format. You had Quel'Danas in TBC but that was really just a daily hub, WotLK just had argent dailies stapled onto an otherwise barren zone, and Cata had darkmoon. None of these were really on the same level of Isle of Thunder or later Timeless Isle. So there's a large level of novelty in those two patches really being the first time in game where a content patch added a sub zone that was structured in such a way as to be anything more than a very small daily hub.

In terms of being an area to do content in it was pretty tightly structured (and that's not gonna be something that's repeatable given how efficient people are at farming now) area. Everything was tied via that central currency and there were like nine mini subfarms going on at the same time so you could walk around and engage with a bunch of autists all doing their own thing and you were obligated to engage with Ordos pvp if you dared venture into the upper section of the island which was made the entire thing layered pretty nicely. It being the "first" of its kind (again Isle of Thunder is right there but whatever) was, again, interesting for a lot of people. MoP in general say a pretty big increase in terms of open world stuff you could just sort of do (rares with toys, world mounts, treasures) and Timeless was really the first time you had all that stuff just given to you. WoW has now long since been this type of game but Timeless was the first big instance of walking around killing 40 rares and all of them had toys or battle pets or stupid shit you just got by fucking around.

Our guild is only demanding to get dragonslayer buff and to get the darkmoon buff if its in our faction area. You don't even have to buy the expensive consumes, you can show up with an agility elixer instead of a mongoose. We even have more than 1 warlock in our raid and even have a ret paladin. We still clear MC and BWL within 90 mins. Everyone just turns in and has fun. Hell we don't even get a full raid, we raid with 30 to 35 ppl. 2 weeks ago we even cleared MC with 20 ppl and had a great time. Got some fat loot out of that one too.
It's amazing that these people state they NEED consumables and need to have gold for it, and at the same time say they need GDKP because the raids are so easy and boring so you might aswell gain something out of it.

More like most people didn't know how to play their class proper in 2004-2006. Even Warriors for awhile thought they were the worst class in the game when in actuality were the best class in the game. ehh I think it's a solid crossover between mechanics (gameplay 'feel', fantasy.) and content. We can shit talk it all we want, but there is a sovl to everything up to panda. I do think panda loses something with the removal of talents and 'dark' fantasy aspects of Classic azeroth into the bright and shiny of pandaria but it's still not bad.

I believe the entire Classic WoW team is Six (6) humans. This includes females and trans/pre-trans individuals.

It's the same dev team that brought you SoD and Cataclysm. Fortunately, they are surely following the same best practices that have allowed them to launch everything from the many iterations of 'niller along with xpacs from TBC through Cata successfully, so you can be sure that soon enough they will get major issues ironed out and MoP will be playable.
