Quick question, but is it worth going to /horg/? I find the idea of a gen to talk about horror games to be pretty interesting, so I want to know if the place gets lively, and if there's good discussion to be had.

>Do any of you remember this YouTube Poop from around 2013 to 2015? I couldn't tell you who made it for the life of me, but I've been looking for it for a while now, and I think I may have actually found it.

>Being a very young child with unrestricted internet access, I got my hands on a lot of shit that I absolutely shouldn't have. Typical old-school YouTube channels like Smosh, really violent and/or sexual Newgrounds stuff like "Brawl Taunts", "Sonic Shorts" or "Nin10Doh!"... And on the subject of Sonic, those weird fetish-y Sonic comics and games. You know the ones. But among this very much not-for-children content I came across in my youth, I found this YouTube Poop titled something like "(YTP) Spingebill Goes Postal". Something I distinctly remember was that I didn't know what the hell that meant until way later on in my life, which may have been through this video or me watching some video talking about "Postal 2" being banned or something.

>The thumbnail, if my memory serves correctly, was pretty shoddily edited, reminiscent to those "SlendyBob" videos from around the same time as this one. It featured SpongeBob with a creepy-looking face facing the screen over a background of Bikini Bottom on fire.

the image here had nothing to do with really anything i just wanted a couple images to attach to the story and i think i did pretty good on this one just for making it really goofy-looking

i originally mentioned squidwards suicide by name in reference to the image since thats what i had in mind but the mods of the wiki didnt take too kindly to that

The music is slowed down by quite a lot, to the point that I could've barely recognized it as SpongeBob music. SpongeBob wakes up, and as he lifts himself out of bed, his eyes are revealed to be completely black, and it seemed like all the parts of him speaking were completely cut out, because he doesn't say a single word the entire time as he gets up and gets dressed.

the change they made to this point honestly made it a lot better so this one time ill give them a pass

also the part at the end of this paragraph about spingebill walking is literally a moment in the slendybob series set to skillets monster and i literally didnt even fucking remember that moment before looking back at it for reference material

I found all these inconsistencies weird when combined with the seemingly really high production value shown earlier, it really started to bug me. In the middle of the room stands Mr. Krabs, holding a motherfucking shotgun and pointing it at SpongeBob, and I felt a wave of shame crash upon me when I thought about how honestly, genuinely cool he looked here.

It cuts to black like many horror series on YouTube when they want to pussy out of what should've been a highlight, and a dramatic sting plays as the shot changes to Krabs in pieces on the floor, covered in blood with a pentagram underneath his carcass. The shot switches to the doorway again, with SpongeBob's back facing the camera. He turns around, and the so-called voice actor from earlier shouts "You're next!" before hitting me with an even louder jumpscare than earlier. And then the video just ends there.

Forgot to write the rest. Anyway, I'll use a very gay fanfic I found on AO3 as an example of what can be considered a 'universal' fear.

A few years ago, I was browsing AO3 for anything to satiate my boredom, in the 'alien' category, and it was then that I stumbled upon a very gay fanfic. It had a lot of fetishy tranny tags, and I, the curious fool that I was, decided to check it out.

If I remember correctly, it was about transsexual plant aliens capturing humans and making them pets. I couldn't stomach the tranny energy emanating from this piece of fiction, and so I didn't even finish the first chapter.

The point is, if you removed the faggotry, this idea could work in a horror work, as humans are the dominant species on the planet. A good example of this is GHE.

Does anybody else remember an old horror rom hack of Sonic 2 called Sonic Fingers? I've been trying to find it again for years now and it seems like there isn't any trace of it left on the internet. My friend sent me a link to download it back in 2013, and idiot that I am, I ended up deleting it sometime later because one part freaked me out really bad. I don't remember the name of the site it was hosted on, but I don't have high hopes that it's still around after so long.

The basic premise of the hack is that you play exclusively as Tails, and you need to avoid the "fingers" that slowly creep toward you across the level. If you make contact with them, the act instantly resets and you lose a life. All enemies including bosses are removed as far as I could tell, but the real challenge is that the fingers gradually speed up as you progress through the game. I don't think I ever got past Casino Night Zone because they just get too fast to make it through the level by that point. Even when abusing the hell out of save states, I couldn't do it. Once you lose all your lives, the screen fades to black and some sort of cutscene starts playing. I really don't even know how to describe it. I'm not sure I would even remember this hack if not for this game over screen. Picrelated is my best attempt at drawing what it looks like from my memory. A deep droning noise plays as this weird stringy shit enveloping the sides of the screen fades in. Then you see Sonic fade in, and it's revealed the stringy shit is actually his fingers. The "music" starts to sound more like a faulty washing machine as Sonic pulls the camera closer to himself, and as the fidelity gets clearer, you start to see that his eyes and mouth are full of fingers. Then it shakes really hard as the camera pulls in one last time, loud noise blares while the whole screen goes red for a moment, and it just cuts to black. After that, you either have to load an old state or restart.

That scene is exactly why I eventually decided to delete the hack. I felt paranoid even knowing it was on my computer after seeing that, but now I feel like a moron for getting rid of it, because everything I'm saying right now can be completely dismissed as made-up. At this point I only want to see it again to prove to myself I'm not crazy, and that this is in fact a real thing that I played and got the shit scared out of me by. I tried to contact my friend some years ago to see if I could jog his memory, but sadly he passed away from an infection during routine surgery 8 months prior. If anybody ITT can point me in the direction of someone with a copy of the Sonic Fingers rom hack, or has a copy themselves, I'd appreciate the hell out of it.
