How do you guys manage overlays? I've got Animated Overlays and Active Overlays, and it seems like Animated just handles everything.

I asked this a while ago but didn't get an answer so I'll ask again, if I'm using mod combat animations to replace the vanilla animations, do they include their own hit frame timing or do they still use the vanilla timing?
If they don't is there anything to be gained by using the hit retiming mods, or do they not apply unless the mod animations happen to have exact visual overlap on strikes landing with the vanilla animations which I doubt they do.
