They really don't. They're the epitome of a youtube combo OMG SO MANY NEGATES endboard deck. You're just eating up way too much space that could be used for non-engine when a White Forest endboard already wins on its own. yes, even in this event. Were good players actually using Dweller and Scythe often on turn 1 of game 1? They've never really been used in MD outside of Dweller during Tear 0 so it's surprising to see them go. They've mostly been sorta mid in Bo1 since too often you invest in setting them up then the opponent is on some random shit that doesn't care about them.
Dweller in particular doesn't seem particularly strong if there's a good chance your opponent is on either Ryzeal/Maliss.

Not sad to see them go since they're degenerate floodgates, so whatever. Most of the time I used Dweller in Sharks the attack boost was doing more than the floodgate anyway since it only got slapped on top of boards that already shut down the opponent.

Vaalmonica isn't broken to the point of needing fixing. It's a functional deck but somewhat underpowered deck. It just needs a consistency boost because it's all 2 card combos which leaves it behind in the modern game even if it has a bunch of combinations of 2 cards that get you there.
Sadly they wasted their last wave of support on a boss monster that's worse than their easier to summon one, a counter trap that doesn't work with Zebufera's gimmick, and a shitty continuous trap that does nothing for the deck.

There's no need, you should just know how it works. Iron Wall says you can't banish so you can't banish. Macro is just an effect that banishes, and if you can't banish then Macro doesn't do anything. It's very simple.

There's nothing to really learn with tenpai, your best cards are all limited now, so if you can't resolve paidra and you have none of said limited cards in hand or a way to draw them, you lose.

As for how you draw into them, you use the sky striker cards, upstart goblin and into the void. But raye alone can't tank a standard infinite negates board with 4 handtraps in hand, so you'll need both of the "triple tactics" cards and spell based board breakers to deal with them.

To be honest, some lists don't even run black rose, because if you're ever in a position where you can afford to drop it, you've already won. It DID see a lot of use back when tenpai was at near-full power however. And aki got support like a week ago, so the deck will be playable on its own once the cards drop in MD.

I learned how to play modern Yu-Gi-Oh! back in early 2021 with Invoked Dogmatika Shaddoll and Pure Eldlich on EDOPro.
I had played only WCS2011 and the Tag Force games before, so I only knew really the basic mechanics and "old" cards.
I think those two decks did a pretty good job at teaching me, they felt relatively simple to play and had short combos, also, despite not being the best decks they also weren't shit so playing them gave me the opportunity to learn about various different cards.
Then I spent some time playing Zoodiac Tri-Brigade
Modern is kinda weird because you practically need to understand at least the basic strategy of whatever deck your opponent's playing, and also have a decent knowledge of various generic cards.

How many bodies can your deck put out? Because the brickiest/most handtrapped of ritual beast combos does the following:

Regardless of which deck you're playing, you can realistically always summon flag and then protos since banshee plus another body can make s:p, who banishes on summon. S:P plus flag is 2 of the 3 different attributes you need for protos. But to do all this, you need three level 4 monsters.
