Toughness doesn't stop melee attacks from doing health damage unless it is full. Depending on the attack and difficulty even poxwalkers can pack a punch and deal more corruption

Depends on how you use it, if you're just standing still zapping regular hordes then yeah people will hate you because you just slow the game down. If you use it appropriately to stun 12 crushers at the same time then nobody will mind.

Anyone else getting Error 2014 playing Darktide today? It's been happening several times in a row trying to start an event mission, and it seems like everyone trying to enter the game disconnects too. Saw some of the same guys trying to que up for the same missions afterwards so I think it may be their servers?

The reason it's frowned upon is because it makes the game very boring to play for everyone else, since it basically turns off the enemy AI.
It's fine if you use it as an "oh shit" button. But the problem is that noobs can feel like every situation is an "oh shit" situation so they use it all the time.

I am actually liking kf3. The way you can customize weapons is so fucking good. I had this laser shit weapon for medic, and turned bullets to cryo, now I freeze zeds and fuck em up close. Also dont forget you can upgrade weapon mods too, and they give huge passives at lvl 3 upgrade.

Movement is fun, finally can shift around to avoid being cock locked in the corner.

Characters locked to perks and battlepass are absolute shit tho. Fucking same helmet in bp, but with slightly different color, really now.

You can use it, just be sure to mix it with Empowered Psionics and either Venting Shriek + Creeping Flames or Scrier's Gaze.

Smite is capable of insane DPS if you are fighting dense hordes, and the CC it provides can be useful. The reason it's frowned upon is because a lot of newbie players pick Bubble + Smite with Warp Siphon and basically throw a Bubble and Smite shit without doing anything else. You don't wanna do that -- weave Smite in between your attacks to keep your AoE DPS up while spreading three second CCs on groups of elites.

It's kinda like the difference between a healslut in your raiding group that only knows how to hit the basic heal spell on your tank when shit is already FUBAR vs. the healer on your team that understands optimal rotation of preliminary buffs, debuff application, and can heal you so effectively you didn't even know you were damaged. One is a weak link, the other can make every run a cakewalk.

I really wish people would focus more on killing gunners.

It's kind of whatever if you're a new player. Only high level players really care about that kind of stuff and you likely arent playing on a difficulty where you're gonna meet them. People don't like smite because it makes the game boring if everything gets perma stunned. If you're playing on low difficulties where people are still struggling and learning the game they might even see smite as helpful so don't worry too much about it. Just know that smite is a crutch ability that won't really teach you the proper skills to get good at this game but it's perfectly fine to use it for now as long as you don't get overly reliant on it

If you beelined the mauler would have just killed you with an overhead. But yes you were too slow. You need to find the balance between killing dangerous stuff and hurrying up.
1. don't use smite on singular enemies its for hoard croud control and nothing else, you should have just pulled out your staff or melee immediatly and killed it quickly that way.
2. you need to learn how to melee better as it's the core of the gameplay. If you're using the dueling sword and you're up against armour you should be spamming heavy attack against the weakpoint, the lights are pointless. Use the mk IV cause the heavy attack loop is better

well you're really just learning the ropes then but if you plan on sticking around in this game I recommend you test stuff out in the psykhanium and get a feel of how to use your weapons properly. I wouldn't really recommend psyker as your first character either unless you really like the idea of using magic. He's powerful but squishy

There has to be something bugged with this new event modifier, I have seen several times now additional modifiers that weren't present on the mission select screen like lights out or ventilation purge and most of the missions feel like they have hidden waves of specialists too

Well I would consider arbitrator the best starting class rn because hes busted in normal play but if you don't want to spend money on dlc I do think zealot is the best starting class. When it comes to melee weapons theres a bunch that are good, the power up one (relic blade) is a good one. Use the mk 10, you can learn combos if you want but its fine to just power up and spam lights with it if you are still trying to learn the basics of melee. Remember to use push attack alot. Every now and then just weave them into your attacks
