I liked it when they first added it in Legion as a cool way to "progress" in the endgame, but every expansion it just kept becoming more about speedrunning autism instead of challenging 5 man content. So I don't participate in it.

With that said, genuinely why does it matter if it's in the game if you just don't do it? I'm not ragebaiting, I'm not being rhetorical. Do you think it takes away from raids if people can get almost as good gear from 5 mans? I'm asking for your actual opinion instead of just "I hate it because it's a retail feature".
