I dabbled on psyker warrior with a shield (psykers do the most melee damage because of their items) but I was just a guy who clicked on people and made numbers show up. The arbitrator melee shieldguy throwing support grenades I tried for a bit on another save felt way more fun, albeit less damaging. Strongly recommend cheating charge's AP cost down to 1 later though, if not using a chainsaw. It's only fair given how much less damage you do without a chainsaw (or being a psyker)

Deflection is great early because damage numbers are so low that every point in Deflection makes a big difference. Armor is better later because the percentage reduction starts being more important. Dodge and Parry great late game, because you need a lot of stats to make these two work reliably.

Here's your shit cheap tip for the day btw since owlcrap can't make games for shit and snipers are kinda weird to play, every time you crit with wanderer's portent you can attack again, period. This includes a secondary weapon.
