My ideal scenario is finding out TBC classic Anniversary is exactly as I wanted it, and still having like three months to prepare by getting a character or two leveled and geared in Classic to transfer over.

Zirene already confirmed they're open to making changes if the community wants it. So far, sated for lust and/or raidwide lust with sated has been resounding on the forums. People are tired of the shaman stacking meta so my money is on raidwide lust with sated so you only need 3 shamans per raid instead of 5.
Chances are they'll also buff some specs that are under-performing like shadow priest, boomkin, rogue, and elemental shamans.
