Fantasy was basically stagnating and from people that actually played tabletop it was much harder to actually get into compared too 40K. So AoS was an attempt to get a clean slate.

Issue is/was that Fantasy just had awful advertisement and basically was only really known through video games like Blood Bowl,Total War and Vermintide. Owlcat keeping Theodora's death vague is a great move because you can just imagine what a kino scene it would have been, there's a shipwide heretic riot and Argenta walks into the rogue traders study only to see Theodora fucking around with some Chaos shit. So she just ice cold pulls a pistol (it wasn't the bolter) and shoots theodora and then just domes the stunned Mort as well and simply leaves. But then throughout the game she must realize she was over the line big time so she refuses to elaborate on what she did and just drops hints that Theodora was a heretic. Owlcat has its moments imo.

This thread made me want to replay VTMB, so I reinstalled it along with the latest version of the unofficial patch, but when I get to the character screen I see no option to select a character's background history like I could on my previous version of the game, is this locked under a different version of the patch or another mod entirely?

Last thread anons said Owlkek Age of Sigmar game would flop. But I thought AOS was successful on TT and even has animated shows alongside 40K.
Why is AOS disliked? I thought they were doing well on TT at least?

It's both to let exceptional people to expand borders of the Imperium without being shackled down by too many rules AND to exile problematic people away from the Imperium.
Remember that you are a Space Conquistador, but you don't fully own your Protectorate. Eventually you will have to give it all away to the Imperium and then fuck off even further to start from scratch, again colonizing some shitholes first. This is why people in game seethe at you already and rather see you gone. Like Macharius Sauerback

It's really the ultimate challenge in the D&D realm. There is nothing else out there. No other game, definitely not the newest release, and no other Baldurs Gate 2 mod either. SCS simply doesn't cut it if you are looking for a challenge.

2. You would have explored a rumor about a xenos presence anyway. In fact, you'd fly your ship into a black hole just because it was there. It's just unfortunate that you lost your plot armor at that specific encounter.

I always buff Cassia's INT to the stratosphere and then have her solve this. Makes her even more broken than what she already is, but the game is a cakewalk by that point anyway. Having a free Finest Hour just makes it go much faster

I was a bit disappointed with the heretic ending after defeating the edge of daybreak and becoming 'the master', it didn't feel like it had any impact on your available choices you had to pick from after beating the c'tan shard. Making up lies about rogue traders in order to kill them for some reason is not really serving the emperor. A proper rogue trader who is not chaos corrupted serves the emperor by expanding his borders. That's the job description. Argenta serves the emperor above all, her religion is her life, so why would she make up a reason to kill a fellow servant of the emperor? How does that serve the emperor?

And the theory that Argenta is a heretic pretending to be a SoB is way too many hoops to jump through. She would have to constantly fool everyone around her, which includes Cassia who is a walking lie detector. She would have to manifest her faith based miracles through warp magic instead and just mimic faith miracles, which would not pass against people like Jimmy and idira who actually use warp abilities. It would also involve her planting the evidence on Theodora's corpse, which implies prior planning, and would be something Idira could emphatically detect. And of course there's also the issue of later we find out from other sources that Theodora was indeed a heretic, so there is no tampering of evidence required so why would Argenta tamper with evidence. You don't have to frame someone for something they actually do.

When you think about it really hard, a female paladin with a sufficiently high charisma would be able to solve a very high percentage of problems simply by prostituting herself.

Feats look fine but I'm not going to think about it too deeply.
I don't think the cost for going 19->20 is worth it, and that dex won't add to your ac much, heavy armor typically has a +0 or +1 limit to what you can add with dex.
If you go finesse to use Dex then all that str is a bit wasteful.
I'd drop one a bit, str or dex, and wouldn't go higher than 19 at the very most. Wis is nice for making will saves and contributes to Perception which is always nice.

There's a feat that lets you add str to intimidate bonus and then you can go Dazzling Display and Cornugon Smash and Shatter Defenses, very effective. Might be worth considering instead of Dodge (it's just a +1 right? Pretty worthless at high level, mostly it's a prerequisite for other feats)
Razortusk also pretty pointless especially at that level.

But if you're playing Core you don't have to be this picky unless you want to. Honestly you won't be doing much missing even with str/dex at 18 for instance, and there's wiggle room for some wasted feats
