How do you deal with the depression that comes after finishing this game? I just replayed Lilly's route after not touching this game since high school. From Act 3 on I was crying, laughing, and feeling things that I've kept bottled up for years. I have this intense yearning for things that I'm not even sure exist.

Emi and Shizune have family in the area so they'd go home and Hanako has no one so she'd stay, but the rest aren't as clear cut.
Lilly probably goes to visit since her parents are rich and the cross suggests she's Christian, but it's still a flight across the planet so maybe she doesn't go every year.
Rin has parents somewhere, but they don't seem close. She might go visit them on holidays but it's hard to say.
Misha never mentions her parents at all, maybe they're supportive and unobtrusive or maybe she got disowned for being a homo. Could be either or anything inbetween

I drew a lot from 2012-2018, but even then, I wasn't the most astute learner, and I didn't practise when I should have. I drew rarely from 2018 onwards, and when I did it was more just to make sure I still could. I've been in love with Lilly since approx. Jan 3 2016. This was my second semester of college.
I was exposed to what I had been missing all my life and fell into a depression. I laid in bed all day, did poorly in all my classes and failed one of them. All my friends from HS abandoned me. Despite that I made new friends and kept moving on.
There are girls like Emi out there. There are girls like Shizune, Rin, Hanako. But there are no girls who are so elegant, kind, beautiful, and romantic as Lilly. You just have to accept that.
Put the feeling you have towards something else. A book, game, whatever. I've put countless words to a VN. You just have to keep moving forward to create a beautiful world.

Funny you say that because Lilly happens to be a cliche character herself, i mean it even says so on her character concept by RAITA. I am not saying this in a negative light nor im saying the other girls are super unique, all of them are pretty popular tropes but i think its the love for our katawas, this longing for such a dare i say perfect mate that make it seem that such a perfect person doesnt exist and for good reason. We only ever see such sincere, gentle and loving girls in this work of fiction, not in our everyday lives. Of course others cant say the same as they were fortunate enough to do find such people but thats them, not us.

I'd say realisticly, the ranking of girls from "You can find her on a walk" all the way to "never ever" is: Emi > Shizune > Misha > Rin > Lilly > Hanako. There's plenty of girls that come from high class families that want to "break free" and act on their whims but cannot and the problem in finding them is exactly that, the fact that they have to follow along their families' ways and not interact with anyone lesser than them so its less about other Lillies existing but more about how difficult it is to actually encounter one. I know its not really encouraging but think of it this way, at least you have a tiny chance of running into a Lilly in your life, us Hanakobros dont have it as "easy".

For me specifically, its her entirety as a person. I can never keep up with very active people, let alone active girls, im an indoor cat mostly so a girl that is on the down-low (but not anti-social) is perfect for me i also have meek girl experience so i know how to work within their comfort zone. The other half is her honest understanding and compassion. A mate that is there for you, unconditionally, despites your flaws or imperfections, this is what love is about and i think that both Hanako represents that but also it is something that i wanted all my life. I feel an immense sense of pride for having made all the right choices on my first playthrough to get locked into Lilly's route and get the good ending on my first try without even looking up any guides or walkthroughs. this means that it was all due to my intuition and it means I sensed it therefore I have a real connection with lilly because I didn't need anyone's help or additional attempts to get her good ending
