Making optimal plays only goes so far when your pool of cards can at best trade 1:1 and the opponent just windmill slams one of their four gildarias.
Worse, the economy is shit. Assuming the the skill based matchmaking does its job and rigs your matches towards 50:50 win rate, in the long run it is better to just hoard gold and buy packs directly than it is to play take2. That's just a kick in the balls for how long that it takes to play out a round of take2 matches.
The meta will take a while to fix, but in the short term they can improve the entry fee/reward structure to actually fucking encourage players to engage with the format.

The winrates might be a bit lower perhaps if I was in Master, but honestly I don't really find there's any skill difference between the average Master player and AA player I queue up against lol

The win condition for Spellboost is DClimb. 20+pp worth of bullshit is often enough to win. The fact that Satan can hard combo an opponent from 20HP is just the cherry on top.
Sword is bullshit since it's sitting there being a jack of all trades do-everything pile of goodstuff. At its core it's mostly a midrange deck thanks to Gildaria's free Sevos, its abundance of rush cards that let it make evo-less power plays, and multitude of follower spammers vomitting virtual card advantage all over the place. The insulting bit is that the low end of their curve can match aggro blow for blow, but Albert and Yurius are win conditions that stand equivalent to what most control decks want to to build around. It's just doing a bit of everything, and many of its cards provide competitive value at multiple points on the curve due to by far having the best enhance effects.

Disruption and keeping up your pace is more important than simply playing on curve. Aggro generally wants to curve out, but tempo cares about how they curve out.

>>534455343>Eh, I'd say that playing on curve is less the defining feature than making good trades is.The mono blue tempo deck that was in mtg standard a couple years ago is a good example of what a tempo deck is imo. It runs only a small amount of creatures, usually 6-8 cards in your 60-card deck, and everything else is just disruption to fuck with your opponent and protect your dudes while they beat face.
It's a fast deck that is aggressive, but it's distinct from conventional aggro because most of the deck is just disruption to fuck with your opponent, while only a small portion of the deck is geared towards actually killing them.

a lot of people claim that to play aggro well at high levels it involves a lot of decision making and thinking
but I've been playing aggro abyss at master rank diamond and I have yet to experience that
the deck is very autopilot, each match I might need to decide on which card to play maybe once or twice
and it's not like other decks where I have to think 2 turns ahead, at most I think up until turn 8 and that's when the game ends for me
where is that deep decisionmaking required at high levels at?
