Full series playthrough; just finished Aqua's trip to Disney Town.
I forgot how ridiculous Pete's situation is. His crime was being annoying and cheating in a town popularity contest and Queen Minnie sent him to the fucking void for it. The punishment did not fit the crime. No wonder he became so loyal to Maleficent; she treated him like a person when all was lost.
Also holy shit I forgot how crazy strong Aqua gets compared to Terra and Ven during their campaigns. It's not even a contest, she nukes the shit out of both of them. She's so satisfying to play.

That's the first time I hear of that. I thought the Shinjuku plot would have been introduced in the short-lived Live Remix because of some its content (pins, noise and of course Coco) was indeed reused in the Final Remix.
That being said the Final Remix content is pretty terrible, they should have just added it as a novel or something.

I think there was one interview for NEO where they spelled it out pretty explicitly but I can't find it now. There was always picrel, of course, that seemed like a tease for something larger than live remix. The TWEWY wiki even mentions that Tsugumi is supposed to be the heroine of the "Shinjuku side" of the story.

You're right, I completely forgot about her. Her role in NEO was so strange, she appears super late and then everyone pretends she was totally important.
It's still strange that they didn't completely abandon the backstory of a never realized game, maybe they planed it as DLC at some point.
It could be a sign for things to come with Missing Link as well, but I hope that's not the case.

Hollow Bastion. It's like the whole game is a chore you have to do before you can finally play in Hollow Bastion. It's such a goddamn good level, it's aesthetically captivating and I personally think the layout is pretty good.

KH1 doesn't actually have a Beauty and the Beast world; the two appear in Hollow Bastion. KH2 has you visit them at the Beast's castle and honestly I always thought it was one of the better Disney worlds in KH2. The bosses are cool.

I think pokemon influenced KH1 as much as mario 64 did. ansem reports remind me of mewtwo experiments and sora's hair looks more like ash's than clouds.
SDG's dynamic is also kinda more like the anime trio than in mickey, and then riku is the rival played straight. I might be looking too much into it since these are common tropes in travel anime.

That scene was crap in terms of intent. They wasted CGI on fucking Sora walking up to and staring at Elsa's castle when we coulda had a 9v1 losing battle on the level of the KH2FM secret ending.

Instead we got poor usage of slow motion, blatantly being wide open in NORMAL motion, Riku doing literally nothing, and that retarded Zettaflare that is literally just a red Kamehameha that Terranort withstood for at least a couple seconds.
