I can wholly agree with you on that. These threads have been getting more and more terrible over time. Frankly, I'd be discussing the leak myself on Discord, except I don't have a Discord account anymore, and I was previously banned from most TF2 discords out there anyway. The only truly interesting things of note in the sfm build leak were the various maps with early brushwork (like the actual 2Fort spiral staircase to sewer and elevator to intel area found in one of the maps), and finally getting the models for quite a few things I never thought we'd get the models for like the Heraldic Targe, the little Tobor robot for training mode, a second revision of knight.mdl, a bunch of models for early cosmetic items that never got added, and the Polycount contest models for the Griefblower, Head-Trimmer, Schwaben Charger, Overdose, and Tonsil Guillotine which most of us had assumed were lost forever. Not counting the BMMH, Big Tex or Big Bang as Oobersli sells the raw OBJs for those models on his site and I'd previously purchased them. As for the tf_movies folder in the leak, I haven't compared its contents to Maxofs2d's sfm internal beta leak files from a decade ago yet, but at a glance I can tell we have already seen 98% of the tf_movies models in this new "leak". I have also been working on my own proper cut content wiki again; tf2cutcontent.miraheze.org.

If a giant company provides thousands of vanilla servers, that effectivelly messes up the "market" and makes it so regular server hosters cant compete, on top of the company literally making their version of the game the first option on the menus and hiding away the server browser as a 4th or 5th option in the menu

if i was valve CEO for a week i would buy myself a whip and use it against the TF Team employees until they fixed the ping spoofing and banned all malicious servers from the server browser, on top of making a "vanilla" tab on the server browser where only official TF2 maps show up
Something as simple as a filtered tab where only servers running live TF2 official maps are shown would already come a long way to making the server browser usable

Remember when at some point around Gun Mettle, valve unlisted official servers from the server browser and forced you to use quickplay exclusively to find them, then after a few days listed them back in the real server browser because IIRC people hated it?

Sure it was before that, but IMO the change still gave an idea of what they wanted to do with the game in the future, it made it clear that they wanted to make the last remaining people who used the classic server browser quit using it completely and force them to use the "official server finder" to get into official servers, because of course they don't want you to use an "antiquated" piece of UI to get into a game anymore, it's 2015 now!, right?...

With gun mettle they initially wanted to keep quickplay the only way to connect to valve servers from gun mettle to mym so the remaining old players and newer players move more away from the server browser and only use quickplay and completely give up on the server browser possibly, it feels like they were warming us up for mym.
Of course thankfully it got reverted, but this feels a lot like what they were intending to do with the change.
