Quill requires constant headshots to be more than a tickler which is relatively easy to do except for the fact that his "hitscan" has a unique spray effect. To be efficient at Starlord you need to finagle the stick such that you are moving up and down from body to head shots.
He's really the only character in the game that plays like that, Punisher's gun shoots in a straight line, Hawkeye and Bucky's projectiles are easily accounted for, etc.
His DPS isn't actually that high, he just has a seriously high amount of escape mechanisms which allow to him to engage with tanks and healers and what not.

I’m a little confused as to when or how you’re supposed to use blade’s block. You can’t exactly use it when you’re in the heart of a brawl, so it feels like it should be used when you’re backing away, but it makes you move so slowly it feels like it’s more detrimental than helpful, or when you’re poking with your shotgun but it’s easier to just take cover and receive healing from an ally.

If they nerfed Emma's M1 damage by half she'd still be A tier because her kit is legitimately busted. She is a tank that can block, mid range fight, and is an incredibly dangerous brawler. You'd need to buff damage numbers to insane degrees on tanks like Cap and Venom to make them more appealing than Emma or Magneto.

I can get in and maybe kill someone with the "attack+projectile+attack" combo and maybe finish them off with a dash if I'm feeling risque, but overall I'd rather use them to escape
And keep in mind using my dashes to hide behind enemy team like sombra or OW to make them distracted by chasing me is not doable because the maps don't allow them, maps are too linear, especially the control ones, which means instant death, on top of psylocke's CD being extremely slow, unlike magik's TP which are quick, which means I'll be out of the fight longer and doesn't guarantee they'll chase me, and if I want to get back to the fight I'll have to do it slowly

His melee is not useless, it's only useless if you EVER attack in melee or use is melee dash without being in lifesteal mode.
Losing out on 5 stacks of attackspeed is brutal from not goin lifesteal into sword dash.
You can also gain additional burst if you do another melee range sword dash after your lifesteal whirl.

You also don't need as much burst as other heroes because you're lowering their heals by 40%.

You get the celestial and eternity fags if you win too hard for a few days as the game uses hidden rating system in QP completely separate from your rank. If you use the tracker and make note of the matches you eventually find the worst of the worst stomps look like this: gold average teams vs high gms sprinkled with a bit of eternity faggotry.

To avoid that hell I adjust my score by losing a lot. Turn's out that's not easy because even a little bit of healing is enough to give you 60% winrate.

Because let's say you could've turned 15% of your lost matches around into wins if you tried your best while trying to make it so your team doesn't give up.
If you otherwise had 50/50 loss/win ratio that means at 2000 matches played you would've had 850 losses to 1150 wins, instead of someone that gave up in those other matches sitting at 1000 losses and 1000 wins.
