Whether intentional or not, I believe Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers turning up now was perfect timing on behalf of Saban/Toei. I'm sure you've noticed fatigue regarding action media being cynical, self-depreciating or depressing. Power Rangers on the other hand was always earnest, even in its "darker" seasons like In Space. It might have been a wild American take on Super Sentai, but it did keep some of the cheesy charm when the format was translated, and people seem to want to return to when heroes were heroes, instead of depressed washouts who seem to be aware of, and hate, that they're in a superhero property.

Depends on the series, but Japanese media in general tends to not treat kids like retards that need to be coddled, so Super Sentai tends to have what would be perceived as more "teenager appropriate" themes, even going as far as having people just outright die on screen with zero vagueness on their condition. Also, being the original series, the shows are more of a linear narrative with complete character arcs, vs. the more episodic nature of Power Rangers.

Don't get it twisted though, the shows are and always have been glorified toy ads, but the original Japanese versions tends to be less "restrictive" on how far they'll be either serious or silly.

We're literally never getting this, it doesn't conform to the generic car body so it makes it "P2W" due to restricting the angle you can shoot the driver. Again, this is why vehicles need a complete rework in how they take damage in combat modes. It needs simplified down to something like the front of the car takes more damage, the rear takes the least, and the sides scale from front to back, and the windows are just bulletproof.

I can't land on one of the POIs with the queens because half the lobby lands there too and I get obliterated before I even get a gun. I can't.land close to one of them to loot up and then rotate to a queen because by the time I'm there, she's already dead and an enemy has the medallion and a mythic weapon, so I die. And I can't ignore the bug POIs completely because I'll get targeted by a player that is jumping around at the speed of sound with their medallions. Also, I can't rank up because I'm not killing any bugs and there's no passive rank-up this season, so I can't get OXR drops and I can't get into the exotic bunkers.

So what do I do as an average or lesser-skilled player? What CAN I do?

I think both Fortnite and Call of Duty have devolved into this shitty movement demon game where there NEEDS to be movement for kids to play it. MW19 had sprint cancelling which was a bug/exploit. MW22 fixed it and kids complained all fucking year to the point where MW3 advertised itself with reload cancelling. Then of course BO6 comes around with "omnimovement" and it's been shitty to play, and it's probably going to stay the same in BO7. Honestly since C6S1, I've enjoyed boons much more than augments. Anyone can get them, and they've never been gamebreaking (water boon was pushing it a little though). They've always been small things (like augments) that just help you in gameplay. And anyone can get them at any time. I especially liked them last season where you get them all at S+, and it was reasonably easy to get to S+ by the last few circles by killing the mini spires.

the random aspect of augments is part of what made them balanced, the other part was that the perfect augment setup wasnt necessarily a free win. you could have balloons/infinite bow ammo/shockwave bow and still get picked out of the sky by some guy who got 2 keys and chonker tires. but rerolling was a nice option to have, for those games where you really wanted one or two specific augments. helps that gold was really plentiful in ch4 to compensate.

After 50+ games and a single win, I can confidently say I love this season!
