I made it to Master! Also promoted back to Diamond during one of the trial matches.
I'm definitely scaling back my playtime on this game though, the reason why I pushed is because some guy seethed about Sword/Rune being able to carry able to carry to Master, so I figured, why not seize the opportunity? Might consider tryharding for Grandmaster, but definitely no more 6-hour grind sessions per day. Hopefully Grandmaster doesn't take that much grind...

When I came back in Azvaldt after not playing since 2017, sometimes when an opponent slapped down some legendary, I didn't have enough time to read the card and think about it while trying to piece together my next play. If you REALLY must do it, then try the version without Ginsetsu and Medusa only crafting the 2 cerbies as she is probably the safest craft with charon and what I assume to be the 3rd olivia a safe second.

Had decent success with pic rel. You can replace Orthus with 3x silver 2drop with bane on enhance as it was originally.
Feel free to cut 1 Charon and 1 Olivia only running 2 Cerberus to see if you like it if you really want to go for it.
Hell you might even get a feel for the deck with what you currently have on unranked.

Right now puppets have trouble dealing damage to face after you burned all your sevo and opponent is healed.
Against rune it's almost auto loss because of how much healing rune has.
Sword board vomits so much that you will end up burning a lot of cards just to clear them out but it's not one sided as rune so you can still win.
Most of the time midrange abyss will fuck puppets in the ass while aggro abyss dies to puppets.
Roach just eats puppets left and right because it reaches lethal faster.
Ward haven shits on puppets with eternal walls while control haven is more 50/50.
Dragon is also a coin flip, if they are running a lot of healing they will beat puppets, otherwise they will lose.

Playing Artifact, it's insane how much difference there is when you can evo Carnelia. If Carnelia's effect wasnt tied to evo I legitimately think AF would be a top tier deck. But right now you want to play it early to stem Sword's aggression or to push damage against Rune. You also need to play Alouette as your first evo turn a lot of the time against Sword and Abyss so it's hard to even find time to evo Carnelia.

Even if they go for the reprinted version, assuming the earliest Lish being t4 going first, you will not have enough stuff die to reduce the amulet cost before Odin. Going second maybe you could play one before him if you +pp on t3 but it won't stick for longer than 1 turn, so same shit. All of puppet's damage is backloaded behind turn 8+ + evos so if her amulets can't stick around to burn face into lethal threshold then they're useless.

So I've been playing all the decks there are, artiportal was the last on my list.
This feels like genuinely the worst deck I've played so far.
Is there anything I can reasonably improve on it?
Lovepuppeteers felt like shit too.
Carnelia is the worst feeling card in the deck honestly. It needing evo + cost of cheating out the gundam parts is just not worth it or not viable more often than not.
Also I get that everything is costed because you can cheat things out multiple times, but I feel like it's just not worth the mana cost?
Like I pay a tax by gathering the parts, then pay full cost 5 for each cheatout and even the 2 drop + 3 engage shit is temporary not permanent on its own.

I had trouble playing against it sometimes so I thought I'd be at least able to enjoy it a little bit, and yeah if your opponent bricks you can roll them hard in a feelbad way, but that is all it does.
The gundam itself is rather dogshit all things considered.
I've considered some replacement cards, but everything needs an evo even the NTR guy.
Maybe I could shove Eudie in there somewhere, but neither the draw nor the heals would be impactful. Medic Assassin is also one I'm eyeballing.

NTA but I've had better luck against Rune because most Rune players have no idea how to react to beta spam since AF is so rare and if they're wasting all their resources on healing and clearing your board, you can keep beta spamming since they aren't threatening you. Once you start getting to t10, if Rune doesn't have their combo then you can play 9 to 12 damage from betas in a single turn and they can whiff their Satan combo and then lose to betas. Karula threatens lethal early on too so a board with Karula and a beta is really strong. Karula in general has won me games against people just hiding him behind the 1/5 ward. That's why Carnelia's effect is so good, she makes really annoying boards that have to be cleared or Karula does 16 damage.
