I've been testing Traptrix as a Songs/Purge/Spiral dominus deck post-DOOD, it's really fun, maindecking evenly and it feels like it has a fair shot against a lot of the meta.

i get the feeling that they keep a lot of link monsters banned because they want people to spend in new cards rather than play old decks. super heavy samurai and mermaid are such examples. i genuinely dont think superheavy samurai is that powerful compared to maliss, and in order to do the old "2 cards equal orcust combo" youd need to run a bunch of orcust bricks on your deck.
both of these cards could come back and would allow their respective decks to compete at the level of current day decks, but since they want you to spend money on the new boxes, theyre not unbanning them ever.

About equal. 3x Imperm 3x Songs 3x Spiral 3x Purge, and 3x Evenly. Avoids Talent/Thrust, can weaken boards/break them, and if you see one of those 15 at an awkward time, they become the discard for Holutea. Very fun deck, I'll give it a try after getting DOOD cards.

I like the powerlevels of the decks on MDpro.
Player base is small so you run into the same people all the time but they play cool stuff.

Stun decks are fine, and I support them, just like I support FTK decks like Gimmick Puppet and Arcana Force.
Stun decks, just like the above decks, are shit for the most part because they go into every match needing to win a coin flip just for the chance to win, they brick easy, they bleed card advantage, and half the deck is filled with shit cards that may or may not work against what they're playing against.

I'm talking specifically about absolutely aids cards which live in the side deck and end the game instantly upon activation.
The side deck was made with good intentions in mind, but the road to hell is filled with good intentions.
We literally do not need the side deck to exist in the game anymore. Just remove it, that fixes half the problems with the game and saves time during the siding process. It's a win/win.
The benefits that the side deck provides are negligible compared to the downsides it brings.

Any discussions I've see of Yugitubers has usually been met with major negativity. Mentioning that you agree with their opinions or content tends to invalidate any discussion.

I've heard it's because a majority of them produce non competitive content. I've also heard they tend to take jabs at the Yu-Gi-Oh community. A more popular rumor is that they tend to be incorrect.

Majority of these rumors comes from TCG and MD players. A common statement at my locals is "Just because (Yugituber) said it, doesn't mean it's true."

One benefit Yugioh has is that its card arts are a lot more readable than most of its Japanese peers, PEPs and LOTHP are basically oddballs more akin to Prophecy Destroyer while in something like Duel Masters they're basically the standard. Add that to the general "nigga sitting in a void and maybe a few degrees removed from a t-pose" to Duel Master's more dynamic posing and Yugioh monsters are generally easier to tell what you're looking at
On the flipside, this means most YGO waifu arts are fucking butt-ugly as shit, readability isn't an issue so the lack of a larger art-frame and more dynamic posing makes shit look muddy and washed by comparison. Activating a pendulum by scaling it is indeed considered the activation of an effect by a monster card, even if the "effect" in this case does literally nothing. It's much like how you can chain Regulus in response to your opponent activating, say, Banner of Courage from hand. The latter doesn't actually do anything when its "effect" resolves, but it's still considered to be the activation of an effect.

In Machinex's case, though, Konami definitely worded the card they did specifically to give it anti-Pendulum applications.

Regulus can negate CARDS or effects, so it makes more sense. Cards activating and effects activating are different. If they weren't, there'd be no need to differentiate them when saying you negate effects.
The reality of the situation is that it is an unwritten rule (at least in the TCG) that Pendulum Monsters activating themselves as a Scale IS a "Monster Card effect", but not a "monster effect". This leads to the fucked text that WILL absolutely confuse people and sound like you are cheating until proven via a google translated OCG ruling page.
It's just another in a long list of weird rules for Pendulums that complicate the game for no reason at all.

Pendulum has got to have the most weird rulings that aren't intuitive for new players. Same goes for Pendulum Zones being shown on the mat but also not existing in any way shape or form until a Pendulum Card is specifically being placed in said zone via a card effect or its own activation in the Scale.

If it makes the example seem more appropriate, then let's replace Regulus with Ms. Judge, or what have you. The same concept of negating the effect on of a continuous/field spell that doesn't DO anything when activated applies, and at the same time, negating the blank effect or not accomplishes nothing either way since you're negating the effect that resolves on activation, not the activation itself.
