is rogue actually that grim on this server? I have leveled like 6 rogues and always take the piece of gear that has more DPS stats, stamina is usually only important when you are fighting an elite or a boss mob 1v1 (outside of pvp). You would think with recuperate stamina would be even more useless for leveling up (granted the devs nerfed its power for leveling up for some reason). I didnt play rogue on this server because their enchants look like hot fucking garbage so idk how bad it is for them exactly.

in fact, in terms of classic stat values spirit is a better stat than stamina for leveling efficiency UNLESS you are doing a quest where you have to kill a special mob where you might actually die from it. PvP chads can feel good about themselves because the go to "stamina + damage stat" is obviously the best set up for PvP but the fact PvE players do it too just goes to show that the sheep are bad at the game and follow the lions example whether it is good for them or not.

That was pretty much my train of thought. It doesn't help that a second spec requires a whole lot of BGs (or 200g), so I'm locked in on fire. I also wanted to play with dragons, but frost already has its own pet, so it was either fire or arcane, and I never liked arcane's mana gimmick.

Fire is a disaster to level up early, and takes some time to become a serviceable spec, but DOES become one eventually!

The dragon is in water elemental range of damage, won't be more than 10% of what you're doing, if even that, because we're not warlocks. They're good diversions, hands-free CC on occasion, mess up with players' heads and HP bars, and some of them have strong utility. The red drakonid here has an instant AOE warstomp that deals strong damage and a 3 sec stun on a 1 min CD for example. Many blue dragons come with mana drains, frost novas and freezes of their own, some even heal, one cast manually cast Deep freeze (that works with shatter). The Bronze drakonid is my second favorite just because it packs a 10yd+ knockback that can absolutely ruin a melee's day.

Ultimately you could probably do without, but why not have fun with the server's gimmick? I enjoy being a semi hunter, roaming around the world and chasing after the rarest dragon pets, some of which NO ONE BUT ME knows about!

You can even AOE farm past 50, it's jankier than frost, but it works when you figure it out through a combination of blast wave, dragon's breath and multiple flamestrikes.
The loss of Ice barrier is really a blow to survivability, but you can get used to it and cope with mana shield.
Plus it'll draw stares no matter where!

None of them have any taunt, and you do too much damage for them to hold aggro meaningfully anyway. You can use them to grab adds though and in other creative ways. Green whelps+amplify magic on yourself actually makes their rejuvenation good. Later on you should get any of the dragons that have slows, since your pyroblast/fireball won't be applying any.

I know of a couple spots where they spawn, I already have a red dragonkin whistle from the dustwallow marsh area that just happened to drop for me during questing.

warriors are great in this as the wotlk prot talents are OP as fuck for leveling, also warriors get victory rush which is better than average early game tweak and lets you pull like 4-5 mobs at a time (or more). if that sounds fun to you then go for it.

you should SWP 4-5 mobs at a time then holy nova them down with your shield active (on some mobs). If you are the same priest that spams these threads every fucking day about how they suck you need to get out of your mindset about their abilities not being good enough to win the game for you for spamming the one thing, yes you should preemptively shield even if it only blocks 3-4 attacks then you can shield again in combat if things look grim, but figure out how many charges are taken away from inner fire each pull and how many pulls you can do before you need to remove it.

rogues got almost nothing going for them while leveling. Almost all their enchants are raid enchants that do next to nothing until you have endgame gear. Like Sinister strike having 50% chance to give an extra combo point on crit, that sounds cool but it is basically useless while levelling up, say you have 15% crit, which is about right for low level, that means for every 100 times you sinister strike you will get an extra combo point 7 times. so instead of 100 combo points you get 107, thats less than 10% more combo points over the course of 20-30 mobs. Even when it does proc what does it give you? an extra 15-30 damage on your eviscerate, thats less than an auto attack. It increases rogue damage by like 1% at low level. For rogues it can feel like you dont get to apply enchants until level 15-20.

Rogues were given recuperate in a later expansion to help with their leveling efficiency but these devs made it so rogue doesnt get it until level 35-40, thats half the levelling experience without self healing. also it restores 20% of a rogues HP over 15 seconds for 5 combo points instead of 30% HP over 30 seconds. This is a nerf to their levelling efficiency and is basically a change you would expect someone to make while thinking
