>Taking 50 minutes and sneaking past all the trash isn't gonna get you achievements
>Speedrunner autists can still go for high score runs
>Normal people can still clear for loot/vault
>Completing a +12 gets you a chance at myth track loot from that specific dungeon, once per dungeon per week, just like raid bosses.
It's the best of both worlds, regular people can play it like a regular dungeon, and mazers can still flex their big number at the end of season.

Not that Anon, but I'm barely under 3.7k and am a carpenter.
Realistically 15s were about having a pulse and kicking. I did most of these with my guild.
16-17s, was where I started losing guildies because damage requirements were getting higher. (I had better times on some 17s then 15s though due to meeting better dps)
18s were hard to stay motivated for since every run was more or less good until it was bricked. It was normally simple mistakes that bricked things, but it happens and you just move on.

i've been playing 14 since around 2013 or so, and that has pretty much always been the case, 14s jobs had very little variation in overall playstyle, most of the melee and ranged physical jobs were 1 2 3 combos with a finisher you charge up, and the caster jobs were spam your magic bolt until you get enough meter then dump meter on big flashy spell.

a few more nuances here and there but 14s job design was never groundbreaking or standout compared to wows. the real draw was the encounter designs and mostly the story, which were lightyears ahead of wows for most of their xpacs, and only started to fall apart when 14 finally had an xpac where ppl didnt like the story as much. wow still doesnt have a good story, but with both games having a bad story at the same time, wows superiority of gameplay begins to shine through. that said i still think 14 probably has better boss design overall.
