As a deckbuilder roguelike enjoyer, I've quite enjoyed this game for the few hours that I've played so far. There are still a lot of mechanics that I need to understand and to also memorize the card pool and moves but it seems like the type of game where you can go very autistic about optimization which is something I look forward to. Hopefully they fix their dogshit client though because it's a fucking pain to open the game through it.

Why is Veronica getting doomposted so often? She takes barely any setup and lets you use AP on characters that want to use expensive cards (khalipe, gayron) and your nia/cassius while getting dmg just from people using skills.

In a longer fight where you might have to be spending more AP on healing/shields, it also means you're generating consistent hits so that you can win via attrition if you have to. Anyway I'm not saying she's top tier or whatever and I don't have all the 5* characters to compare her to directly but she seems great to me.

Her gimmick is using a bit of an initial AP investment upgrade cards (battle long buffs) to set up a series of turrents. Those turrets will periodically and consistently do passive damage so long as you use a Reload card occasionally.
That, combined with the fact that she has very few permanent cards, mean she can just keep dishing out damage at low cost without taking up space from your other characters.

She is basically a solid long term damage dealer for bosses and stuff and combos well with characters that use a lot of cards for combos like Mei, Reona and Tressa, for example.
