Having a higher max doesn't mean too much really unless you like playing on the bleeding edge and emptying your AP then waiting for the regen.
AP over the max from items/facility doesn't expire, deteriorate or anything, you just use it up until you're empty again.
The max does mean a lot in that situation I mentioned where the syringes give you an amount of AP equal to your max AP, so increasing your max with the formations means you get more per syringe, then switch back to items when you are using the AP.

I like to go for the gems [2] [5] [8] [13] too.
The 2x limited coins [12] and crystal packs [9] [17] are nice to aim for as well.

I think that with a game like this, being able to make your characters stronger in the first place is thanks to your skill growing. Not even that hard to build, you just need copy whatever top score team that fits your current lineup.

2 DPS of your choice + healer. I recommend Lapis because she's very strong.

However If I were new I would recommend building this team out because it works for total war and VR.
- Renewal weapon + Arena swap on Sora. 2G/1R supporter.
- SR that increases dmg to atk target weapon on Tokiko 3R supporter
- Rebellion weapon on Phantasma (each crit hit increases dmg dealt to target). 3G supporter.

Aim to +15 all the weapons and supporters. with all maxed out demon magatamas in the main weapons (ignore swap weapons unless u really wanna spend money/time.) HOWEVER lots of the DPS increase will come from the 'awakened skills' which require you to level up all your girls to 81. Good luck Anon. I've been grinding for months now and still don't have all of them 81.

For specifics, go to the total war ranking tab and find a team like this. Annerose is in a lot of them but she's not f2p so I ignore.

From the tickets and you should be able to get the right weapons. It requires very specific weapons (this strat revolves around Sora's OP renewal weapon (u only need s.lvl1), the girls' weapons are to buff her damage) and specific supports (they also buff damage).

There's some supporters like Kurosaki that have nice % per buff.
She has each buff decreases damage by 10%
So 3 buffs is the same as other supporters that reduce incoming damage.
If you can get 5 buffs then 50%
Kana has 10% damage per buff, only 3 buffs surpasses alot of other attack buffs.

Everyone debuffs, Everyone heas, everyone is an offensive powerhouse.

The only drawback is that it's heavy on the red supporters, but if you want a blue one you can go change Felicia for Shizuru or Shisui or Asagi if you want strong self sustaining powerhouses oin blue builds, or go for Astaorth, Kirara, Eleonor or Lina if you'd rather keep the demon thematic for the sake of formations or whatnot.

for Red the Ingrid they gave for free a while ago buffs your critical damage
on Blue the limited Annerose that gives crit whenever you fail to crit also expresses ti as a buff. Also there's a Su that gives you melee damage per attack as a stack
The anniversary trio that can be changed of colors when set on main gives three stacks of 16% crit damage, up to a whopping 48%
As for formations, "The corporate warrior" compposed of gacha lina, nazi oboro and corporate ingrid gives you stacks for every full particle which is yet another buff

And yes it goes crazy, it's exactly what the top team in total war does with Annerose.

Let me explain as a Saika enjoyer.
Her current playstyle is awkward normals into big damaging skills. Her playstyle is similar to Azuma except with more directional AOEs. So you run her with either a Speed+ supporter or 2 reds to use Calamity Over.
Her new skill means that 5 gears = 25% speed buff + 50% attack buff + 30% cool down and Super Armor. Full Overclock plus a Lan supporter means 50% cool down reduction, so you can loop Shadowless kicks pretty easily.
So her obvious supporter set goes to Yuri Hisui ( 200% damage and crit damage boost when at 100+ Combos) + Lan (20% skill cooldown+ 28% skill damage) + Assault Rin (30% Crit chance+6% damage buff)/Lefria(30% crit chance)/Hasuma Reiko (60% crit rate boost when a crit doesn't land)/etc...
With that loadout, you're not going to notice the damage increases on Boost Greave (BG) at all because it's only effective in nearly the same situation you're getting a 200% boost.

So what becomes her best in slot weapons? Ariel or her rebellion weapon. Ariel grants 16% damage increase on each kick of the Shadowless kicks combo. which is more than BG
Her rebellion weapon can grant a 40% damage dealt increase, which in Total War is a lot better than a 1 person damage increase. So you can slap a Mirabelle supporter as lead and make her only use only her yellow skill and shadowless kicks. Also pair her with 2 other rebellion users and you're look at 120% damage dealt increase.

Other than that, I'm looking forward to seeing if Hurricane kicks no longer leaves you airborne. That move was terrible because of that.

Her current playstyle is actually spamming short CD skills and cycling through them. The only real need you will ever have for your normals is triggering Shadowless kicks.
As she currently stands her most successful builds that I've found are Shadowless Kicks where you run around triggering skills that boost your damage like Take Over or Calamity Over, or sustain yourself with Moonsault, then setting up a Shadowless kicks. This build is mostly for VR Bosses and you really need Ariel

Her other successful build is one around Quake Stomp where again you insantly cancel the first hit of your normals into a succ move, and then pad the time with very short skills. Ideally Spinning Kick that heals, moonsault that heals, and Hurricane Kick for range. For this build you want to push her damage as much as you can because her skills are naturally weak.

She's not slow, I don't see why you want speed.
Her fucking new weapon gives her a total of 180% damage bonus at 5/5. 40% crit damage, 50% from her passive and the 50% double up. I am assuming "additional 10% atk" means it's additive to the passive if not it's going to be a total 215% damage at all times. AND 40% crit rate to boot.
To put it inot per Fucking Annerose got 30% from her passive, 60% and 20% from her weapon, total 152%, which is less than what Saika gets, and she's top of Total War

With a 40% raw crit bonus you don't give a fuck as to what your crit rate bonuses are. As is you can get 12% from your skill pooints and 40% from awakening skills. that's literally 92% crit rate for simply being you can focus all your eggs on the damage or survival basket. Also Assault Rin is only humans, she's machine.

Even if you're dead set on Hisui, Boost Greaves boosts THE ENTIRE shadowless kicks. As it currently stands without Ariel the final hit is only 3/4ths of the move so boosting the whole thing is better than just the final hit which may whiff.
