I have yet to join a single Hellmire game where we actually extract. It's 100% the roach that's fucking every game up. It takes 5 gorillion shots to take it down and will guaranteed hit you once per fly-by. The weapon buffs we NEEDED were increases to durable damage, increases to fire rate for a few weapons and decreases to drag on most weapons. The reason a, for example 100 weapon damage per bullet weapon, feels like shit is a combo of basically everything worth killing having durable up the ass and drag meaning that you are dealing less than half of that damage a few paces in front of you, so the number given in the stat screen is never real.

Some of the good buffs were stuff like moving the projectile damage to the explosion on the plasma garbage dispenser. But generally, a lot of it is a pile of nothing, or the wrong weapons being buffed in the wrong way (moar damage when most weapons kill non-durable enemies in a few shots already)

The knight and the sta11 both have an awesome firerate (knight being the best) and both are great with the ballistic shield. Could very quickly mag dump fleshmobs even before the patch and kill them fast in a little less than 2 mags. Overseer's armor sucks, but you can put so damage on target so fast that you just mag dump through it. Siege ready is a good passive with SMGs plus helps reload.

But I will admit that ballistic shield feels like a high risk medium reward. You can make it work, but you're really having to make it work. Llimit you on your primary is the biggest factor. What players want is the reprimand as a one hand, and it's really more on them for making the defender just not as good as the other SMGs.

A tool Arrowhead uses wrong because they are retarded.
If they used Durable to make light weapons good at fucking up the weak points on heavy enemies, giving light weapons a role in killing heavies, while leaving Mediums to kill standard enemies better, this could work.
If they used Durable to make Anti-tank weapons mediocre at splashing small or mediums, this could be good.
They only use Durable to make you use anti tank, or the fistful of explosive weapons that ignore it, at all times constantly.

Why it lost the vast majority of it's initial popularity, and 90% of the people who played back then will never come back. It was their first attempt at META busting. Problem is that this wasn't the META. It was the OETA. The ONLY EFFECT TACTIC AVAILABLE. Goddamn dumbfuck swedes. We're 17 warbonds in now, so people have options they didn't have back then. But the issue, and the solution was always to make the worthless weapons suck less. But this retard has always been incapable of understanding this. Which is why we see this horse shit like we saw with the last patch; "buff" weapons, while actually nerfing them through roundabout ways.

Breaker/RG/Bubble wasn't even a massively popular build. Yeah there were youtubers using it to solo D9, but that was an infinitesimally small minority of people out of millions who could do that. It was the 'Appease Tigole' approach, and it's never been a smart way of doing online game content/balancing.

Between that, the Eruptor nerf, and thermites being completely worthless on launch, I quit this game for months, and started cheering on it's downfall. I thought with the buffdivers patches they were learning from their mistakes, but now I see that a year later they've decided to just be actively spiteful in a very feminine way, rather than the usual accidentally retarded levels of spiteful typical of Swedes.
I think the game's dead for me now. Unless they fire Alexus and Baskinator, I'm likely never going back.
