I call it "conversational narration", whereas the usual narrator is some omniscient voice that simply gives exposition. The conversational narrator feels like it's speaking to the reader rather than simply telling a story, usually with some affection. After playing with lithiumflow for an extended period of time, I have to say, I sort of get the blacktooth reaction now.
It's ismslopped, but damn if it didn't milk me like a racehorse because it knows how to hit the right points in what I like. It's a very visceral model that takes choices most of my swipes with other models didn't, similar to how DeepSeek used to be able to just throw the most insane shit at you, but with the smarts of an actually usable model.
Found myself repeating "with a mischievous glint" back to it like it was a game we were playing together instead of just being frustrated by it.
Obviously honeymooning a little, but I'm honeymooning because I was burnt out on Claude being the only one capable of properly servicing my needs and not because I'm upgrading from Mag Mell or something. A good question. I would say it depends on what details you feel are most important. If you don't really care about the background story your character is in, you could conceivably have a two or three-sentence greeting and get a decent enough flavor from that.

I think most botmakies like to establish a bit of a world. I'm dabbling in that myself, adding <background> to bots so the bot knows what kind of world the character and user are in. Otherwise, people might pull out smartphones in a 60's setting, with the model not realizing how "modern" the actual setting is. Makies use lorebooks now as well, injecting bits of content into greetings that will link back to lorebooks. This way, there can be canon answers to questions about the world that the bot won't hallucinate (whether they actually work well can be a roll of the dice, but the same could be said for much of this hobby) when the user encounters them in the greeting.

Personally, I think two meaty paragraphs are probably the sweet spot. Four or five isn't unreasonable if you're doing a really in-depth card. You go further than that, and it starts to turn into a short story to me. It also depends on what kind of HTML mechanics you have going on in the background and other cool features, I guess.
