2. Marvel Rivals has been way more fun than Overwatch except like year 1 Overwatch. Fills the niche for competitive shooty game. Hit Eternity in that a few seasons ago but the meta is sorta ass rn I think.
3. Fortnite is pretty good and my friends like it, but playing HD2 makes it way worse because HD2 feels 1000x better than Fortnite's physics. Honestly battle royale is like the worst mode these days.
4. Elden Ring and Nightreign, either cooping with friends on ER or randoms on NR. Surprised no one has mentioned any fromsoft games those are kind of the goat. (Remnant 2 is also like a mix between HD2 and Dark Souls)
5. GTA:O, Minecraft, and SWTOR are all chill "once every year for like a few weeks" games, as well.

If I had to recommend anything to a HD2 (diff 10) player looking for another game(s) it would be Fromsoft slop. Elden Ring if you want a huge epic adventure. Dark Souls if you want something more linear, probably start with 3. Remnant or Remnant 2 if you NEED it to have guns, but those are sorta less polished - although 2 has like randomized playthroughs sort of.

HD2 definitely activates the same neurons fromtsoft games do.

Something about the PoI and geometry is so boring too. Like I don't even care if there's SC in them, its not fun to explore and its not fun to fight in. Only a couple of extracts have fun verticality. Colony planets felt so much more interesting to navigate through and led to much more exciting emergent gameplay moments of fighting. All right, I'm starting to warm up to this thing, at least against squids. It's actually pretty handy when you need to down a Watcher or Elevated Overseer, especially since it fills a niche role instead of the usual "I ran out of bullets for my primary and was caught with my pants down" bullshit. I think the removal of damage falloff over distance helped it more than the patch suggested, you can pretty reliably kill a Watcher in four shots from lock-on distance. A full magazine is required to kill an Elevated Overseer, but if your primary and support aren't well-suited for it, it's super nifty.
