Learn to pick your fights, don't hesitate to run away and don't reload unless you die, any fight you survive makes you stronger. Building an outpost will attract trader caravans and hostile raids. Building one too early might be more than you can handle. Pressing F1 will open the tutorial screen. Mousing over the stats screen and HUD will reveal useful tooltips and additional info. If the enemies feel too difficult - get crossbows for your units. And don't be afraid of the RP autism - engage in it whenever you can. And do unlock the sliders.

The thirty skeleton dream is nearly complete, including two P4 units. The last slot was supposed to be filled by a guy I did the "KO->leave for slavers->purchase->profit", which worked on the P4s, but something odd happened instead.
I dropped the bot off at Eyesocket, and he didn't come up for purchase. This happens sometimes, say layvee and lazy fair and other french phrases. So I opted to spring him, which he objected to like a big pussy. He kept getting back in his cage, so I picked him up to scurry away and as I did a slaver shoved a grass pirate in the now empty cage. I realized every cage in eyesocket was now full of grass pirates and hungry bandits, so he had no target cage to return to. I left without incident, I was lazily pursued for a short time before they turned back, no hit to faction rep. I dragged his ass all the way back home and now he just stands there, wherever I put him, wearing whatever I give him, his skeleton brain caught in a loop of trying to return to an occupied cage. It's very immersive.
What do I do with this guy? I know he won't sign on, he's basically a mannequin or dummy guard I can carry for strength training. Poor guy's just going to stand in one spot until the world rots away, trapped in the cage in his CPU. I kinda feel bad since I'm the one that inflicted the trauma that made him short circuit.

Two of my skeletons were pursued into the Deadlands by rebels, who slowly melted away during the scuffle that ensued. As I was patching up post combat I spied a caravan of Greyflayers who must have wandered in from the Grey Desert, and one of them had a 2k bounty and was sizzling like fajita meat at the end of the line. I snagged him and ran off to Stoat to get my cats, stopping at the waystation to check the bar and rifle through his pockets. Bloodrum and hash, I thought the backpacks were for show. I confiscated his contraband and stashed it next to mine before I turned him in, but it gave me an idea.
Is it wise to prey on these guys? Part of the profit problem with hash is the time spent growing and refining it, this lets me skip all that and go straight to finished product.

Yeah, they guys carry a ton of hashish and blood rum, you can get very wealthy immediately from just ko'ing these guys with very little consequences via assassination. Alot of games i entirely avoid the swamps unless i want to actually do the hashish farming route through the hounds/greyflayers etc. Still very little consequences and they are only present in the grey desert region, stonerats usually end up hostile anyway in normal swamp playthroughs.

Same goes for the traders guild & western hive caravan garru. When they are downed by skimmers you can instakill the garru by taking their death items and take the entire backpacks of valuable rations and skeleton repair kits with no faction rep decrease usually & they wont even attack you/might turn occasionally hostile though but this is only temporary.

Decided to start basing in Shun at the very start of the game. It works great as you don't have to deal with taxes and bandits. Just roaming bands of stragglers.

In this case, went with all robots to make a self-sustaining base. Upside of this place is that its great for ore, copper and stone but shit when it comes to plants. So pure industry it is.

As much as people shit on TI, he's absolutely correct the engine is completely fucked at a core level because it's designed largely for film before gaming.
If they were on UE4, I would be fine with it, but UE5 is honestly the most performance heavy engine out there and doesn't seem particularly well optimised for gaming.

You can make yourself a super kung fu butt kicking badass with max stats, run around in your dead master's cloth and kill nobles for shits and giggles. Nothing explicitly obligates you to abide by the early game loop. Browse the workshop,. try out some mods, see what appeals to you.

Scorchlanders are, for fairly good reason, left unexplained. Out of all the races they have the least lore aside from the tidbits about it being a drow-like race pulled from Morrowind/Oblivion mod or whatever. Sun demons are the closest to looking like normal humans while being wholly distinct. Jet black skin, silver white hair - like an inverse albinism. *Glowing* eyes to boot. Wily & eccentric little bastards, they match Greenlander demented crazy with machiavellian madness. What's their origin? Well, nobody knows.

My guess is the existence of Scorchlanders has something to do with the harshness of the environment and increasing pollution of it. Maybe Scorchlander bodies, as like their eyes, are better for enduring in the contaminated landscapes. Out of all the divergent races they're the only one aside from the root Greenlander race that aren't trending towards inhuman mutants. Shek are on the edge of going feral if you stop civilizing them. Hives inherently are without their Queens (exiles are the anomaly). Cannibals, grabby assholes, have no hope. Fishmen? Right.

Whoever may Scorchlanders was the only one to try to make something decent and not purposed for killing all humans.

While Peelers lag up the game due to flopping limbs and the body remaining there after use, its at least satisfying to put assholes who hurt your guys in them.
