Back then characters like Cow Demon Queen, Levia, and Yamata no Orochi were rewards rather than story given. Outside them most of the roster was pretty balanced by something, Queens and Grangold had shit traits, and Black Alice and Eden don't really pop off that much until Sealed jobs kick in or grinded but they're route exclusives so them being a bit better was fine.

I've used "werewolf" as a name in my project since it better fits the story, but in effect it's still just a wolf. There just isn't much difference between a werewolf and a wolf unless you want to have different shades of furry-ness on your monsters.

That being said, I'm certain there's some variant of werewolf girl out there that infects others with a bite. MGE already has infection/transformation for every monster, there might well be a story with your child friend turning into awolf girl or somehting like that.

What would you consider "properly using" a werewolf as a monster girl? It's difficult to frame transforming alone as a curse when the entire draw of the genre is the non-human characters, fear of spreading the curse doesn't work because people want the monster characters, and we both know how the animalistic instincts or hunger for human flesh would be treated.

First dumb idea off the top of my head is instead of a werewolf girl, use a were-"wolf girl". A comedic take where the male viewpoint character is cursed and he locks himself up at night not so that he doesn't kill, but so he doesn't have sex with a man.

I am assuming this is what is causing your problem, because that one choice is honesty one of the dumbest things trtr did for how much it fucks up the entirety of the early game and demo area stuff since he did not rebalance anything with this change in mind at all and it shows.

I don't think I ever actively used barriers against random encounters on my hell playthrough. They could definitely do serious damage and wipe within 2-3 turns if I wasn't careful, but having evasion, reflection, and/or shield counter abilities equipped was almost always enough to not get 1-turned.

I agree, but do keep in mind that most of those people probably started using the internet when it was still more uncommon. I think, like I mentioned, is a Alice mid-transformation into a White Rabbit Clone. During the MW, Marcellus notes that the White Rabbit guiding is just a way for her to infect the local Monster Lord of a world with her cells. Turning them into another variant of herself and brining world to ruin via chaos when that occurs.

The Only reason it doesn't happen to S!Luka Alice is because the close proximity to Nuruko made her immune to such cells/stop them from functioning(IDK the exact details, but nuruko is the stated reason why she didn't turn)

Prom is a low class angel, who only is somewhat strong in the VN because of her science experiments. Eden is a weak baby compared to her sisters, and the other Archangels if we are talking about the AW version, but she is way above any other class of angel, and almost everything on the surface too, since B.Alice needed her out of the picture for her plan to eat Ilias to happen.
Gelt would not have been able to take on Eden, but probably could take Prom without issue as long as the White Rabbit formula isn't used.

She might be pretty bad when it comes to the Meta game, but Gabriella has White Magic priority, and endgame stats and levels.
She could carry you if the status effect shit keeps killing you.

iirc you can null/counter her insect skills, but trying to stop her magic attacks will set her off.
Also don't use time magic against her either, it's a bad idea.
Beyond that it's not too hard to handle her, thankfully.
Use the Singing or Medicine Skills that remove the (status) Guard Kill Debuffs and apply All Status Immunities, as she has a random chance to reapply Mind Guard Kill at the start of every round. Use Doping to increase Max HP along with the Dancing/Singing/Shield Captain skills that will help reduce damage to let you absorb her hits more frequently. Target her weakness or create one with guard kill and taoism if you need to. Aim for combos. Don't try to rush her, that's going to get you killed in most calamity fights.

If you're feeling lucky enough, it's difficult but possible for you to reflect Mind Guard Kill back onto her when she tries to activate it at the start of the fight or any subsequent time afterwards. If you manage to pull it off, doing so will completely strip her of her own immunities to confusion and sleep for the remainder of the fight and the result is Hive Mind turning into a complete joke who you will effortlessly stunlock and steamroll into oblivion even if you aren't aiming to OHKO her.
considering what happens afterwards I'm genuinely convinced that this was actually the way trtr intended for players to beat her.

If you're talking about the two 3.04 versions, the Manuel Edition has some improvements over the BobMTL in terms of minor fixes to translations such as names and pronouns and other things like that, and some quality of life stuff.
There should be a version in the OP for 3.06 you can use to apply the translation to it but you'd have to patch it yourself.
