You need to move them when they are about to reload or use a skill. Each time you cast mari or wappi skills during the run will drastically change when they reload or use NS depending on your timing. Basically most ex skills for that team needs to be used within 1/10 of a second accuracy every single time for the entire 4 minute run or everything falls apart. It's the most maldy team ever came up with. I tried that strat last geburah and gave up. not even trying it this time. Maybe for the 3rd geb I give it another attempt.

Left is the standard basic non-limited student pool.
Right is very old characters that were moved to a seperate archive banner using its own tickets because many of them were farmable on hards, in shops and were owned by a lot of the playerbase already so were unrewarding pickups.
Girls on the right are no longer in the lefts pool, but you can get most of them from the earlier mentioned sources and it's pretty likely the remaining ones will be top canidates for future shop / hard additions.

All that said, you should probably only be rolling on the right banner and ONLY with the free tickets you get. Any pyros should be going into rate-up banners.

That can be useful if you want to get the student to 5* for affection purposes but don't really care about their usecase before then - I'm sat on a Misaki (though she isn't archived yet) because I want to get her to 5* and I'm playing the long game.

Most of those students are available in the shop and you won't be rolling on the archive banner much, so yeah - I'd just redeem them.
If you want them at 5* the shop prices aren't bad anyway so you can just buy them up.
