Explosives packs generally aren't a threat unless you're already fucked and immobilized, or camping like a retard/driving unprotected through urban areas. The average retard isn't going to know how to cook it or even do so successfuly so it blows on contact with you. Literally just keep driving and shoot retards running at you while cooking nades and you're immune to 95% of explosives packs.

Ammo management is part of the game. You're not supposed to yolo spray and pray. You have to be judicious with your shots and go for tap-firing headshots. Heck, you don't even need to shoot until like wave 8 when the green engineers arrive. Literally just go prone and melee their limbs of infantrymen and riflemen. You won't get hit that way. Enemies drop their loaded weapon for you to pick up too. Using these strats I haven't had a problem with ammo management assuming teammates don't spam buy and blow through all their ammo on infantrymen as fast as they can.

It's nothing special. I just used the flamethrower stuart, the M5A1, and the pacific CBT LVT in the premium slot. I've got "better" tanks unlocked now though, so I'm running the M3 Lee and the Crusader, but I swapped the LVT for the LVT-4 APC I just got.
Once premium goes on sale I might slot in my M5A1 again. The sheer mobility of it is great for harassing their backline and can be better than BR2 tanks in the right situation. I think greyzone camping is gay and boring as fuck, so I tend to rely on mobility to hit their flanks.

Being nimble is the difference between dying to an explosion pack/TNT and driving off to prepare for another joust at their reinforcement route. I just drive around the flanks and their backline spraying the MGs (one of the tanks where the hull MGs actually work) and blasting SAPHEI every 2.5 seconds. Lobbing HE with the Lee's 75 is effective, but it's very map dependent. The stuarts can fit through every nook and cranny and drive off before anyone can cook a nade or climb on with TNT
I put "better" in quotes because every single time my Lee or Crusader gets stuck on map geometry I think to myself "I wish I was in my stuart running over downed players desperately trying to crawl out of the way"

Is there even any reason to use the PPS-43 over the PPS-42?
It has more recoil and 100 more RPM, which is only 10 more than an upgraded 42, and would put it at over 800 if you upgrade it, which is a tad too high for a 35 round mag. If I could modify it, I'd set the 42's upgraded RPM to 650 instead of 690, but 800+ is just inconvenient.

Tips for the event besides laying prone and using swords? I got a very competent group of randoms and managed to clear the first two tasks easily, but getting 6000 points is mostly a slog.

US got another event para for br3 back in september.

Had a few Soviet BR4 matches with a buddy I play with because he wanted to move up a tier, and it isn't as bad as many people say, we played like 4 or 5 matches and all but the last were easy wins, the last match was confrontation on Stalingrad and started out rough because literally nobody was trying to capture the first point, but once we got it the other points were capped quickly.

Yeah, that's generally how it's done. I'd recommend getting at least good BR2 rifles (Not necessarily the latest in the tree) and BR2 AT launchers unlocked before moving up.
Try to get an engineer in every squad and remember that rallies win games and you can't always rely on the blue enemy to not be braindead subhumans and make any on their own.

For "bolt-action" rifles, I recommend the Winchester and Mannlicher for Soviets/Krauts as they can both work the bolt without exiting ADS.
For Japan, it's just the Type 38, which is available early, but there's no ADS-bolter. I've heard good things about the Otsu, but I don't have it unlocked yet and generally don't use BR2 semis.
For burgers, the Ross, the Enfield, and the No.4 are all ADS bolters. The No.4 can easily claim to be the best bolt action in the game due to also having a 10-round mag, but it's pretty far along in the tech tree. I personally just use M1 Carbines at the moment because the other stuff is gay and br*tish, also why I simply use the Bazooka instead of the Piat.

You definitely get more points for head shots but you can do the first 6 waves with just a sword.
Bolt action rifles are useless even the lee.
The SMGs are all fine.
Auto Rifle are over kill, keep them in semi.
If there are two guns of the same exact type, buy one, cancel the reload and buy the second. You'll get twice the ammo without having to fumble fuck.

Finally got my first victory. Players are starting to understand the mode now. You don't need to waste bullets and dump mags into infantrymen. Use melee. Riflemen can be dispatched with pistol headshots. Engineers are easy to pop with headshots. Save ammo for uber enemies and you're set.

I only bought a couple of SMGs before the Type 100 and that was it for the match.

How doable would it be to try and farm the rooftop section instead of opening the door? It has 2 entrances which means 2 players per chokepoint, the stairwell section also makes it easy to get enemies burnt up if you shoot a green one. You would need a coordinated team tho.

Rooftop is strong to hold because of the two chokepoints. One question I have is whether stronger enemies trigger from waves or areas unlocked. If it's from waves it might get dicey when you have to kite around.

I got to the auditorium/atrium area and despite being open it was actually strong to hold because of kiting opportunities. You can lose a horde chasing you instantly by just jumping down a floor.

Eh, it would be situationally strong but very vulnerable like all the other flame tanks we have. BR4 would be a good spot for it and the flame hetzer I think. 150 yard range but no cannon, with that kind of range the projector would need a longer cool down than the others for balance, quickly overheated coaxial fifty, and giant fuel tanks easily ignitable through the meager M4A3 hull. AFAIK the concrete applique was only done to the sides, but even so would slow down the mobility considerably. The bigger problem is that it doesn't exist in WT, so we will probably get the flame Churchill with its stupid trailer if anything. They were used on Okinawa too so it would fit that battle as well.

The Johnson is a sidegrade to the M1 Garand at best. Really awful looking sights (in terms of texturing), no bayonet. It has technically lower horizontal recoil, but it's barely noticeable. Two extra bullets, similar reload speed. That it was ever BR IV was exclusively for "progression" purposes. The star BR III semi-auto for the Americans is the M1907 SL. Yeah, it kinda sucks past 90 meters and against Vit users, but you can just pump bullets out at a problem until it goes away.

The 2 bullets do kinda convince me, that's one of my main problems with the Garand, if you encounter a squad head on you have to make every bullet count, anything that's not a red hitmarker will put you in a position where your remaining bullets won't cut it and you'll have to whip out a pistol instantly or die.
It's one of the reasons I still use the KB-P-135 even at BR3, because while it does have lower damage it has a big mag size and virtually no recoil and I'm lucky enough whenever I have it equipped that I somehow manage to land headshots with it despite no careful aiming and just spam-clicking like a ghetto smg

The devs seem to have decided to base RoF on contemporary documentation not post war writings and tests, which is pretty good methodology actually. The alleged test of the FNAB using a 70 year old gun and modern ammo that was much hotter than 9 mil in the 40s, likely yielded a much higher fire rate than what would have been the factory standard at the time it was produced. The first person view exacerbating the dagor engine stealth fields around enemy planes really fucking sucks, but I tried the I-15 in a test drive right now and I feel the open cockpit would really help with hearing incoming enemy planes, like breaking your canopy in WT sim so you can hear. You play them like a Japanese holdout and actually engage in guerilla warfare just like the name implies.
Kill their rallies and shoot them in the back. TNT every tank as they drive to the battle. Harass their backline until you manage to piss off a few players then go to ground with superior speed while you distract a large chunk of their team and pop up somewhere else to shoot them in the back again. Every player you successfully make seethe is another player that isn't doing the objective.

It's better in urban areas with verticality, where you have lots of cover and can bob and weave through buildings and do shit like lure them into a building then jump out and gun them all down. Though in a pinch you can run through bushes to break LOS then dive into a ditch and crawl just far enough to the side to get the drop on your pursuers. Remember: If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

You know what? Fuck it. I will buy the 365 days Premium, mainly for the +100% XP, I don't care too much about the rest. I understand grinding is integral to the game but there is so many weapons and vehicles to grind that it really crawls to a snails pace, so I would gladly take the boost. The base game is most definitely fun enough, due to the bot system you pretty much have nonstop action and I love the gunplay, wide open maps, sense of scale etc. Wiping down a squad with my SMG or getting a 5x Kill with an airstrike gives me the happy hormones. But I would like to level up my BR too. I played for about 40 hours and can barely make a very shitty BR2 team, which I am scared to play, because I get bunched up with BR3 demons and most of my guys would still run around with upgraded BR1 SMGs and dogshit BR2 LMGs. I want to comfortably play BR2-3. And I will get there faster with the boost.

I don't know for sure but I'm going to go out on a whim and say no. You would have to move the event flamethrowers to the inventory and I don't think you can move event weapons around.

I did that with a BR1 premium rifleman squad. 9 riflemen and you can switch the upgrade so they can hold another weapon instead of backpack or pouch. So I can equip them with AVS's and use them at BR5. It's easier to uptier your guys than downtier generally with premium and event squads.
