Yesterday on /v/ I posted my theory that Noelle could be the Knight. I want to further elaborate here starting with the mechanics of what actually forms a dark world when it's made.
In chapter 3 Ramb tells you about how Kris and "her" had Queen, King, Tenna, etc. all lined up during their playtime sessions. However, we know Kris most likely did not make the chapter 1, 2 or 4 dark worlds. Why then do those dark worlds share internally consistent lore, settings and characters? If those characters and ideas are something Kris came up with, but Kris did not make those dark worlds that must mean a Lightner with the same context and knowledge is the one that made those dark worlds.
When Susie makes her dark world in chapter 4 it's a warped version of the previous dark world. The only consistent character shared between these dark worlds is the fire extinguisher with the door code. Why is this? It's because unlike every other Darkner in chapter 4, the fire extinguisher goes out of his way to introduce himself as the "most important character". Not only this, but the other Darkner in the room tells the party exactly what item that Darkner is in the Light World, meaning that Susie not only made a mental note of that character but knew exactly what item in the light world corresponded to him when creating her world. Every other Darkner in that world was mixed up when she made her version because she did not internalize the story and was focused more on stopping the Knight and interacting with Gerson. Speaking of Gerson, the likely reason Susie was unable to revive Gerson is because unlike Kris or Noelle, Susie never knew Gerson when he was alive, thus meaning she doesn't have the knowledge needed to fully pull him back to life, thus warping him into what we see in her version.
This means that if someone else without this knowledge makes a dark world it will likely be entirely disconnected from any other the concepts or characters of the previous worlds.

Soda addiction sucks and sounds stupid, but it’s a drink that’s literally everywhere and filled with sugar and caffeine. It has a fucking INSANE amount of sugar as well, you could eat a chocolate bar and get half the sugar that’s in the average soda can. The caffeine compounds this a bit further, since it’s the combo of sugar dopamine and that if you stop drinking it, you get horrible headaches.
Don’t drink soda. Resist the temptation. Don’t even try to ween yourself off, just go cold turkey and tough it out. If you’re going through it really bad, have some chocolate or random candy.
It’s insane how badly even tiny amounts of caffeine will mess you up with the headaches and other stuff.

We know from what Susie says that the Knight must be a Lightner. There is only one Lightner in Hometown that not only has access to every location where a dark world is made, but is already present in those locations before Kris and Susie arrive there: Noelle.
In chapter 1, Noelle is at the school when you arrive, and although we see Susie eating a single piece of chalk, it's possible the main box was stolen by Noelle. Noelle also tells you that she lost her key at school, and Starwalker is suspiciously similar to a key. Kris also will not let you see Starwalker's real world item in chapter 2.
In chapter 2, Noelle is the one that tells Kris and Susie to come to the library.
In chapter 3's weird route, we know Kris visited Noelle before making their dark world. This could mean that in the conversation we didn't see, Kris told Noelle that they were planning to open a fountain.
In chapter 4, Kris and Susie are told to come back later for choir practice, but choir practice is cancelled. Noelle would be aware of this, knowing that the two would return to an empty church ripe for a dark world.

I believe Noelle is either acting so that she can further bait Kris and Susie, or that when she's acting as the Knight she's dissociating in the same way she does after the chapter 2 weird route ends. It's also possible Friend is manipulating her somehow. I find the first possibility most likely however. Noelle fits the themes of seeking freedom far better than anyone else in the game, even surpassing Kris. Her life is in shambles, with her father dying, her mother being a despot, her sister lost forever, Kris refusing to interact with her like they used to, and her closest "friend", Berdly, using her just to get better grades. Noelle is trapped and desperate, with the dark worlds offering her an escape or even a means to force Kris back to her side. Noelle is desperate to return to those days she spent with Kris before everything started to fall apart.

In chapter 3's Eram encounter, Eram speaks to Kris in a very familiar way as if they know them. They also know what Kris did on the weird route when the only other character that should be aware of that being Noelle. If that character is being controlled with a controller like most of the other game characters, that means that someone must be on the other end, most likely the Knight. Knight-marE like people were saying before.
Also, the boss is accompanied by Friend, which gives it an even stronger connection to Noelle since she was the one to create it. If Friend is to Noelle as Ralsei is to Kris, that means it could be accompanying her in every dark world and that's why we keep seeing it from chapter 2 onward. Noelle never went into the chapter 1 dark world since Alphys interrupted her, so Friend never arrived there either. She could simply have acquired the shadowmantle before making the dark world. When does Friend make its first appearance? Not at the Spamton basement segment, but before that. You see purple and yellow signs of cats plastered all over the segment of chapter 2 where Kris and Noelle are together, once again hinting at her strong connection to it.
We know already that Cat Petterz and Dragon Blazers are Noelle's favorite games, and both feature heavily in chapter 3 and 4. With Friend having come from Cat Petterz and the chapter 3 secret game being heavily implied to be Dragon Blazers, this gives Noelle an even stronger connection to the dark worlds. What characters are the ones used to poke fun at Mike conspiracies and fan theories? The three Mikes that give you access to the Cat Petterz minigames in chapter 4. Why is the secret boss of chapter 3 so different from the secret bosses of chapters 1, 2 and 4? Because unlike those chapters, the Knight had to directly show itself due to not making that fountain, and had to hide its identity doing so. Because we would immediately recognize them.

Sugars are empty calories that your body turns into energy. This isn't inherently bad if you use all that to exercise. But you likely wont, so it gets stored in your body as fat. Body fat is basically the human's "energy reserves". Because human bodies haven't evolved past the primitive age, it doesn't know that food is readily available and doesn't need to store that fat which becomes a health risk.

A diet low in processed sugar and carbs but high in natural fats, complex carbs like fiber, plenty of veg and proteins can make you overall happier and think more clearly.

Noelle doesn't want to destroy the world. She wants to play with Kris, and playing around means anyone can lose as long as the game continues. It's like Flowey in Undertale but less extreme, if it's all a game then the objective is the game itself. Noelle does not actually want to hurt Kris or Susie or she could have easily ended everything while they were downed in chapter 3. She just wants Kris to come back to her, even telling you this directly in chapter 4's weird route.

Think about how Kris has a room dedicated specifically to them and no one else in every single dark world: the egg rooms. These rooms seem to tie directly into Kris and Noelle's past somehow, and if they aren't being put there intentionally it could be a subconscious manifestation.
Her end goal is either to keep the game going forever, similarly to what Susie says to Gerson in chapter 4, or for Kris to eventually go into the bunker with her and face the past they refuse to acknowledge.

Chapter 3:
I think my favorite part of chapter 3 has to be also related to Weird Route, i.e., Sword Route. When I first played it, I was just messing around and stabbed Ralsei. Actually flinched when I ended up "killing" him. And it took me a good 5 real life minutes to muster up the courage to do the same to Susie when I realized that was how I had to progress. Of course besides also wanting to be ass-railed by Tenna, the Knight boss helps my opinion that it's the best chapter so far. Most fun boss since Jevil.

Chapter 4:
Besides the obvious WR stuff that happens in it, my personal favorite bit was probably the lore implications of monster dust in the dark world and how that will probably tie into the Knight's identity. I think it's the weakest though. Beautiful OST but I can't shake the feeling that something is "off" with it. Titan boss was cool and Gerson secret boss was a neat nod to Undyne albeit much easier.

With how much I am really digging the weird route so far, I wonder if it right for me to feel that way and whether or not it would be in my best interests in relation to Gaster and his plans. There's supposedly only one ending, but with how it's worded on the Steam page I feel like there's going to be a point where we splinter off significantly. It may or may not be as overt as Pacifist/Genocide but I really like that we are given options and real consequences for our actions.

I was there when it dropped on October 31st, back when the deltarune.com website was just Gaster text saying something like "DISABLE YOUR ANTIVIRUS THANKS" with a download tied to it and everyone was freaking out. The entirety of the GONERMAKER sequence set the mood perfectly, even before starting the game proper, with stuff like "YOU ACCEPT EVERYTHING THAT WILL HAPPEN FROM NOW ON." I think if I had to choose a specific favorite moment from Chapter 1, it would be that entire setup. More specifically, the moment I was asked to name the creator after already naming my vessel after my username, leading to me putting the same name twice and having Gaster reply "OF COURSE. OF COURSE THEY ARE THE SAME."
If I had to choose a scene from after the GONERMAKER sequence, though, it would definitely be when King got healed by Ralsei only to immediately backstab the party, followed by Kris defending Susie, and King doing a callback to the locker scene's dialogue. It really solidified that Deltarune had an identity separate from Undertale, while still showing it wasn't afraid to play with the player's expectations.

I'm a sucker for old games, so getting the Punch-Out arcade minigame gag followed by an actual Punch-Out bossfight at the very end was a godsend. I believe I managed to get through it my first time around only getting hit twice total by the Queen's leg-kicking attack at the very end, right before she throws the giant baseball. I had so much fun with it, but I just wished there were more attacks that forced you to go a specific direction other than the ferris wheels. It felt like you could always just press down and dodge everything, so I mentally forced myself not to.
Of course, when I found out Weird Route was a thing, killing Berdly with Snowgrave was fucking nuts. Straight up erasing an NPC to get an item was fucked as well, which I really liked. But nothing beats that one-on-one against NEO at the very edge of the fountain. (1/2)

I'm gonna be honest, I didn't really enjoy Chapter 3 that much compared to the other ones. I got a T-Rank in Board 1 without trying, and I felt like Tenna's sprite clashed too hard with the rest of the game, which really took me out. I was really happy playing through his Legend of Tenna game, though, but all I could think was "man, I wish this specific zelda subsection was maybe a little more like the original games." You can imagine my reaction when Ramb just acted like a fucking psychic and said everything I wanted to hear. Grabbing the OddController and seeing the shadowed "MANTLE" logo followed by a callback to the GONERMAKER intro on startup fucked me up so bad. Seeing all the enemies referencing the Undertale cast, going into the woods and recognizing this was the "Tree Adventure" from the newsletter, picking up the Ice Key, seeing the remnants of MANTLE on the normal Board 2, recognizing the Noelle blogpost when reaching the ICE PALACE GLACEIR, and of course, killing Susie and Ralsei's avatars. All of them were the greatest shit ever, but nothing could compare to the fight against the Mantle Holder, and seeing HERO_SWORD crawl out of the screen. Truly, the best fucking shit ever.

Despite how much I talked about the other chapters, this one had the overall best moments. If I told you every single one I liked, I would be here for 3 more posts.

The Susie-Lancer evil arch was very funny to me. Whilst not the most lore heavy or emotional part of the game, it made me smile a lot and really got me invested into their characters.

As for Chapter 2, it was definitely the berdly statue bit with noelle and all the added flavortext she has.

For Chapter 3, Tenna's entrance. I don't think I could ever forget the feeling I felt as that Genesis music played that he was gonna be a fucking prerendered sprite.
For Chapter 4, it's difficult but I think the Weird Route scene in Noelle's house. It feels so creepypasta-like, so out of place and utterly fucking sick. Same reason I liked the Mantle game in Chapter 3.
