Anyway I actually ended up beating Of Lies And Rain. The final boss is a bit of a difficulty spike but after taking a break and coming back I beat it in one try without even breaking a sweat. It really wasn't that hard. Rest of the game is very enjoyable and I'm going to play it again since I missed a few areas.
Hard to say it's better than alyx because I last played alyx like 20 years ago, but it didn't annoy me with retarded decisions. Controls work great and it plays well without being distracted by "now teleport across the gap" bullshit. Better enemy variety and fights too, better story, uh... I guess it is better.

there really is a big variety of kinds of worlds, from game worlds to puzzle worlds to large worlds, small worlds, sleeping worlds, erp worlds, VFX worlds, virtual market places, more probably. Check out some avatar worlds. You can't upload your own avatar until you rank up your account by spending time on game and making friends, but you can use avatars other people have uploaded.

It was pretty good.
The age of the movie shows, but it's got a kind of historically siginificant aura about it. Being probably one of earliest examples of what we'd call a "slasher flick", and also being a strikingly (unintentionally) pro-feminist movie released almost immediately after the Roe v. Wade rulings.

Plus visually it looks nice. Generally you can pick any random mid-low budget movie from before the mid-00's and there's a good chance it will "feel" way more "real" than anything produced within the past 15 years. Like you're looking at real actors (even if they suck) working with real props (even if they look like shit) in real locations under real lighting, instead of everything being a hodgepodge of shit edited in post.

"YosaVR" is the combination of "Yosakoi" and VR. Yosakoi is a (modern) japanese folk dance style, which often relies on using accessories.
With "YosaVR", we aim to actively learn dance routines; first we'll learn some actual yosakoi routines, but I'm planning to eventually mix it with other types of dances/songs later on.

Most people use virtual stock which almost every game with two handed firearms has. It's almost as precise as a physical stock while retaining most of the versatility of no stock.

That's definitely PC version but Quest version looks pretty good too, just no dynamic lights and less AO.

I also think the original beta maps are better balanced than the new ones. New ones look better but mines rush gets too big from the third defensive line and making push on sites basically takes whole team and the new conquest is circular in design so it's entirely possible for the teams to just keep chasing each other around. On siberia every line is easy to defend but there's also easy way to overwhelm one site with good push and iceland is flat and boring but everyone converges into centre of the map eventually.

Mines is very cinematic but it's just all over the place with balance. First line is just meatgrinder that defenders can't hold if whole attacking team piles in, second line is way too defensible if B isn't taken first, excavator is just rush who can get on top first and the final base has way too much open space between spawns. Almost all of the VRC stuff is in desktop only worlds, no one really uses standalone VRC here.
Some of the game lobbies that get hosted are for games that have crossplay though, so you could get in on a few of those.

The recon class is all about situational and map awareness, fast movement, and setting up avenues for your team to push forward. It is not a sniper class. It is not for sitting in the back line missing every shot. It is for sneaking around into a backdoor, setting up a zipline so your team can follow, setting up a spawn beacon so your squad can push with you, and blasting unsuspecting faggots in the back of the head with a pistol.
You should never pick up the sniper rifle in the recon class. Doing so marks you as a shitter and a complete waste to your team. Games are won and lost by the amount of recon class sniper users are in the team.

That'd be me, and I'm still reading a bunch of reviews on it while waiting for some in depth things to come out. Everything I've seen so far is that it's more or less the Quest Pro 2, and that foveated encoding is fucking amazing if you hack together Steam Link 2.0 to run on it from the PfD where it's implemented, with the big pinch point being the question of comfort since the headset has the fixed headstrap, FoV is a bit of a related question as well since the design can limit how close you get your face to the lenses if you are using the provided forehead pads and don't perfectly match up with the optimal head shape, and also no one has done a good test of how well face tracking actually works beyond a quick couple of meme videos on Twitter. Controllers are massively backordered, but you can just use Knuckles with Space Calibrator if you've got them like you do any stand alone headset.

Lack of bot support for now in 32 player games means there's basically zero chance of passworded servers any time soon, maybe a chance of it for 1.0 release, but even then, I think there's a chance they just never support it.

Best you can do at the moment is get everyone ready to join a server at the same time, then announce the server to join and then all hop in. Servers come and go so if you wait 10 min or so a 0/32 should appear. Then everyone switches team until everyone is on the same team and that should work for up to 16 people okay.

I think VRC is in a rough spot. It has never been profitable and the things it's customers want are not really compatible at all with the things investors want. Sooner or later the money is going to run out, the adults will have scattered to other platforms that cater more to them, and the roblox audience will go back to roblox. I agree about Unity but porting VRC to a new engine at this point doesn't sound feasible. VRC has a lot of value in the worlds and avatars that exist currently and I don't think they would want to risk that.

They way age verification was implemented was a total shit show, in my opinion. No way am I paying a subscription to dox myself to a shady third party that is already on trial for mishandling data just to join specific group instances for events I don't care about? what were they thinking. On the other hand, if worlds could be marked adults only, or if there could be adults only publics, then it'd provide a lot more value. What I personally would want to have is the option as an adult to automatically hide and block children no matter what instance I'm in. I don't want to hear them squeak. I don't want them in my worlds. I don't want them to see me. I don't want to see them. They shouldn't be on the platform at all.

It's like VRC did the bare minimum just to check off that they added age verification and then called it a day.
