Getting money without actually having any real accountability is what creates shitpile messes though. When you basically don't have any incentive to release anything, you'll procrastinate to keep the gravy train rolling, and then once it's actually time to release it'll be a slapdash compilation of half-finished work and ideas haphazardly piled together.
Then, assuming the people are still willing to fund you (and why wouldn't they, sunk cost fallacy and all that), you can switch into post-release support mode where you'll promise everything will be fixed but more time is needed and keep the Patreon gravy train rolling for years to come.

You need a shitton of default replacements to firstly blacklist all the ugly clothes from packs, plus a set to override every single accessory as not allowed for random, and probably the no exotic names mod and maybe if they're up to date a mod to also blacklist all the weird, fucked-up looking skintones.
Even then they'll still have atrocious body types unless you learn how to use MCCC to set slider range limits for randomly generated sims. I'd also recommend >>545641645 as the easier solution, but every time you kill one, three more take its place.

If you were bored with 4 once then I'd probably recommend 3. It's a lot uglier, requires a bit of work to make it work decently and you probably don't want to install all of the DLC for performance reasons, but there's a lot more to do and depth to everything compared to 4. Even with all the DLC Sims 4 fundamentally is still just as empty and soulless as before.

i wonder why no game tries to copy what sims 3 did with animation interpolation. in 3 if you shorten or heighten a sim, they aren't the offset by that amount when you sit, unlike sims 4. every sim you make short in 4 will sink into the couch or chair.

sims 3 never even considered a height slider, but they did consider a low quality way of making animations smoother called animation interpolation. pic rel is plantsim set to +256 height, genie to -256. but look at their hands, they meet and there is no clipping. this works for like 90% of all animations with height differences in 3. every object they can interact with grabs right, they hold it right, they sit down without sinking though chairs like in 4.

most games don't attempt height differences at all or if there is one, its usually male vs female only, not a scale you can change. sims 3 managed to do something cool without even trying and i'm surprised no one tried to replicate this since.

I take it you're mainly asking why Sims 4 doesn't and it's a rather simple reason for it. Sims 4 was originally another failed attempt at a Sims Online so the engine wasn't made with it in mind. And rather than scrap the whole project they just made it Sims 4 instead.

I haven't looked much at either of those but I expect they didn't make the engine with it in mind either. Just a guess, but I think making animations is different in Sims 3 compared to the industry norm. More setting an aim for the end limbs and hoping the engine can do the math right for the nodes.
