I got bored after two void stones. At first, this league seemed interesting, but all the drops are really fucking bad.I've only gotten Divine Orbs by selling lifeforce. Also, the breach mechanic feels lame after a while, especially the citadel with 24 waves

Is the loot drama overblown?

I'm speaking of someone who done all kinds of strats last league. abyss/breach/legion/blight/simu/ult/harvest/memories/ubers (didn't do alva/containment cause boring). I did 36/40 both of my characters that league have mb and gear worth roughly 500div - mirror each. my profile

I know we get less drops now based on the nerfs but so are the prices now. I did a slow start this league but I found that the tree and new league stuff just print out a lot of stuff. Items/raw divs etc... (I got 3 in early white maps from the tree juice alone). It's easier to start going deeper into maps and for gg gear you probably need to farm more cause those are still hard to obtain (which is good).

Isn't this a good equilibrium? Do we need to inflate our currency to have a 'good' feeling playing the game? Cause I'm fine dropping less divs if the purchasing power is the same. At least for trade league it makes no difference and ssf players have immeasurable access now based on the genesis tree alone. I don't really see a big issue here.

Okay, I now have all four voidstones, and I've still had zero divines drop. Even the tree rarely gives me anything other than a few Chaos Orbs sometimes.

Stuff is dropping, but it's not worth shit. Like you pointed out, this wouldn't be a problem if the purchasing power made up for it. The problem from what I can tell is that all the stuff you want is still just as expensive as before, but you have less of an avenue to generate the money to get it.

The part that doesn't make sense to me is how all this shit can still be expensive. Maybe it's because as everything else devalued and become more accessible, the less accessible items generate higher demand?

heres my schizo theory: they realized that they can NOT develop two games at the same time, it simply doesnt work. everyone knows it. we get half a poe2 league and half a poe1 league every 4 months each, it sucks for everyone.

Armour is nice to have but doesn’t do a lot on its own because big hits still shit on you (that 70% number is fake, don’t trust it). Do you have endurance charges?

anyway 4k hp is not a lot and armor is not very useful on its own since it provides no protection against elemental damage. you should really go evasion since dex increases it. try to get some more defensive stuff like flesh and stone and steelskin on automation. suppression too, just click some nodes on the tree and get the lucky suppress mastery. do all of these and you will become much tankier without any real changes to your character

Are you guys aware of negative rarity farming in PoE 2?
Its where you get no rarity on your maps or tablets, juice pack size and quantity, negative rarity ventors rings. And the point is to drop as many white bases as possible, which can drop with overquality or extra socket (exceptional base)
Why isnt anyone doing this in PoE 1? I know the only way to get overqual bases in PoE 1 is from a hidden archnem loot conversion mod for rare monsters, but shouldnt the same still apply

it took me almost a week to farm 100 divs + 20 divs worth of gear on my char
When i see something like this it makes me want to fucking quit. I thought i knew how to farm and play the game well, at least on above average level... turns out i know absolutely fuck all and play like a total noob. Makes all the time spent grinding feel absolutely worthless as well.

They learned their lesson form Kalandra and made the league mechanic at least appear to be profitable at low to midgame, but then in the endgame is where the rugpull manifests when you're already in too deep and bought your supporter pack

The point of negative rarity is to ensure they dont upgrade in rarity, from normal to magic/rare/unique, which would make them unable to have overquality or an additional socket. Its been tested enough to the point its confirmed (in PoE 2) that you in fact do get far higher rates of those bases going for as little rarity as possible. 1 in every 2 maps will have an exceptional base. Mind you most of those bases will still be shit due to it being on a bad base but still, once you hit big you get a lot of divs

it just doesnt work like that in poe1, overquality items can drop as any rarity.
the only time i remember negative rarity being good was in phrecia league. that league had a special item drop (idols) with minimum magic rarity which could not be modified through currency but which could be recombinated. the poe1 recombinator greatly prefers magic items so magic idols were way more valuable. in addition to that, theres a unique item which causes magic items to drop identified, meaning you could blast maps and have your filter pick out the good ones. i didnt try it myself but it looked kinda cool.

Yeah I can see the argument. Without blood you've got the RNG on the wombgrifts dropping multiplied by the RNG on the tree itself, so they make womb grifts plentiful so you're not constrained by that RNG, and then use the blood which isn't RNG as your reward. Of course this only arises because you had the double indirection in the first place.

Tried to make Perma Vaal Absolution work like in Phrecia using the new Chaos Bloodline and ended up with something pretty neat. By getting a bunch of reduced skill effect duration on the tree and the 20% reduced soul gain prevention duration, we can get SGPD to about ~12s. Using Foulborn Might of the Meek to the left of the witch starting area, we double the amount of minion duration from the small nodes counteracting the reductions, getting our Vaal Absolution duration to ~15s. With the Bloodline small node and Runegraft of the Wick, we get 2 souls a second and perfectly hitting the 6 soul cost in 3 seconds, allowing us to sustain Vaal Absolution even in areas without mobs. I use the standard Doryani's Prototype package to scale damage and defenses.

This did alright but the clear was a bit janky because I couldn't really get other sentinels to stay around very long and I was relying entirely on Innocence. Turns out, Living Lightning is really good for this. I support Lightning Warp (decently fast due to low duration) with Living Lightning and damage mods and it shreds regular packs after Doryani's -200 res. This makes it so mapping is basically just Lightning Warp and pressing Vaal Absolution every 15 seconds. Kinda neat how everything worked out.

Ignore my life dipping all the time, I don't do too well with the Bleeding Sawblades and the build is honestly decently tanky.

I don't actually understand a lot of the trade league loot complaints. Most people don't craft themselves, they want currency to trade for upgrades. You can get currency from maps still depending on what you spec into.
I have been making pretty decent profit off of the trade tab by picking up high level bases that have value, and grouping them together for decent prices. People whisper if I'll bulk sell, typically accept 1/2 to 2/3 value. Dumped a bunch of Profane and Convoking wands into a dump tab and later moved them to a merchant tab for 1c each, a guy asked to bulk buy both since I had them set up reasonably, Was roughly 65C individually, sold for 40c at once manually. Like it's not crazy big profit but people on Reddit are claiming to be in red maps with 10C to their name.
