I think it has a good story. I actually do.
But the problem is Hoyo's execution. Always.
It has always been the weakest thing they have. The problem is they really want to propel a mixmedia type approach when players really do not like story telling split that way.
Remember the bilibili countdown videos? It should have been in-game. The actual epilogue? it shouldn't have been an after story sidequest. The radio stuff? It should have been heard in the actual story.
If they are already doing the story with long hours of investment from the player then just go all in since there is a skip button anyway for those that do not care.
They also need to make more in-game cinematics.
For a multi-billion dollar company their execution is at an indie level when it comes to story.
