Interchangeable, and I guess depends on what your intention is. Molar is better to stack count and potency with, and Solo stuff thanks to her retarded dodge.
Hanamael has way better DPS potential potential however, and clashes, something Molar struggles a bit with her S1, and S3 without enough self charge in some cases, she also has a decent sinking count spread in her skills, which allows her to maintain the sinking on the bosses which other units work towards the count more like Kodya or LC Sang when he clashes, only her S2 is count negative, sorta like Erlking's. She also has plenty of EGO that work toward sinking or help with it, her new Zayin boosts her damage too, and her special attack is basically a burst that doesn't spend any sinking count at all. Her potency application isn't bad either.

Basically Molar is more reliable as a sinking applicator and solos, while fuda is better for DPS in sinking, and bursting said sinking.

That's an overstatement. She's neutral s1, -3 s2, and I think +1 on s3. Neutral on special. Counter is -1 iirc, there's one tremor and one sinking coin. And no, you don't spam S3 even with discard outside MD.
Her strength is EGO. She scales off EGO, has EGO options for each of her suit colors, has cheap ZAYINs of both sinking and tremor burst, has a %chance to generate more EGO resources, and regens SP on hit. She also has good EGOs passive lineup: her tremor HE is a great self-count boost for regret/T units, her zayin gives her lmao 2 clash power, she has an Echoes TETH, and if you need SP or AoE you can use blind obsession.
But her status infliction is barely treading water if not harmful for the team if you're stuck chaining s2s. Her point is to use EGO once every two turns and never drop your streak so she chunks people with count-neutral (positive with echoes) Kozan every two turns, while also slapping bosses with either 6 bind or echoes via corroded portrait.

Decent is a bit of an overstatement yeah, but current sinking teams can maintain count way more easily, especially thanks to Kodya, and her count spread isn't that harmful, aside from S2, Erlking is arguably worse, and still used in a lot of sinking stuff though, unless your intention is to get tons of count on a boss, which I feel Molar is still better for if you want it more easily.
You can also use her counter in case you can use the top skill to chain her hand to get Kozan, which can lead to an extra S3 to use if lucky.

I did forget about the potential extra sin affinity gain though, but that's like 25% chance, not exactly reliable.
