This game is extremely scrub friendly and I don't think anyone with a functional brain can argue otherwise, you can fucking SEE it with the gameplay and characters that have automatic setups that you don't need to practice, all their shit is integrated with the moves themselves specifically so you can just do stuff and get rewarded for it, and it's usually exremely safe shit or straight up plus frames fuckery. A lot of characters just play themselves and your inputs are just there to make YOU feel good about yourself, but your choices matter very little, if at all. Doing Beatrix slide and randomly landing it into some memefuck auto-combo that chunks 75% of someone's health isn't exactly peak skill showcase. It's just what she does automatically regardless of your skill level.

SF6 does the same except with drive rush faggotry, everyone is just a drive rush character and there's no variety to anything, but you can argue it's the same for this game too. Modern fighting games in general are just fucking shit. That's the real final red pill about it. It's just to pass time, there's barely any actual skill involved since modern fg mechanics favor random shit and rewarding you with big monkey damage for minimal effort. When I 66L or blueslop into a combo for the win, I don't feel anything about it, I had very little to do with any of it and it just sort of happened and I won because of it I guess.

I'm getting nowhere with Uno now, I've played him for eighteen months and I don't have a single win in or out of this place. I'm spinning in my wheels and watching myself go nowhere while all the matchups I already can't win get made harder. This place has Zooey mains, Vane mains, 2B mains, Beatrix mains, we have the best Charlotta player in the fucking world and they have to handicap themselves by learning new characters for each bracket just to give everyone else a chance, and the longer I play the less I can rely on matchup ignorance to compensate. Let's face it: I will literally NEVER win a /gbvsg/ bracket using solo Uno at this point. I have to try someone else and learn how to make them work if I want the last two full years of my life to have had any purpose whatsoever. What game pads do people prefer? I've been using a stick for a while now and like it plenty, but I feel like a pad would be more comfortable for gbvs. I can't stand the PS controllers, while I actually like the switch pro well enough but it's not feasible for playing people on PC & PS5. My favorite controllers for fightan have been the original PS1 Dualshock and the Dualshock 4. The only controller that feels like a superior substitute is this Gamesir which is almost 1:1 to the Dualshock 4. The dpad is fucking great.
