When his dad eventually passed, bro was 40something and had nothing going on in his personal life because all he did was go to work, and then go home to take care of his dad. It's a looming crisis. Care is expensive if you live in America, and the actual care homes treat their old people terribly (I used to work in one and quit because the understaffing and zero-fucks attitudes were killing me). There's no longterm solution being planned out for this, even though it'll affect more and more people each year. Maybe see if your dad has options through medicare or something.
