We absolutely need to keep characters dead in Nikke, first of all. Otherwise there are no stakes, and their sacrifices meant nothing.

A Nikke can be dead in the main storyline, and still receive costumes via Monthly/Mission passes. They can even still be in events. They'd just have to make it a prequel event. There are endless possibilities for this. Hell, they can even receive overspec/updated units : depending on when the event takes place.

I love Noah, Harran and Isabelle so much (ok maybe i lied a little about Noah), but there needs to be loss. It would be very unserious if nobody died. Maybe they couldve avoided having to kill them off permanently: if they had killed Crow off, rather than "disappearing" her to the rehabilitation center indefinitely. Crown's arc had fully played itself out. Nobody needed to see her again. So that was also a mistake.

The same characters dont need to keep being used in the Main Chapters storyline, especially now that the Queen is "dead", and many new characters have arrived. Future main story arcs can explore different time periods as well, if they really want to bring back dead characters in the future.
