Just got ratted a minute in from a full round start. Stitcher went through my medium shield like butter, and the rat killed another guy before punching me out. I didn't even see where he came from. Turn off crossplay. Spawn as a freekit while you're first getting your bearings. Use proximity chat to announce to people in solo queue that you are friendly and most of them won't murder you. The flying drone enemies come in different flavors. The wasp is the smallest and you can kill it quick by killing its rotors. The hornet is one step up. It has armored front rotors but unarmored rear rotors. You can side dodge the hornet's tazer attack. "Rocketeers" are bigger and sound like helicopters. You should avoid rocketeers like the plague for now.

Once you've extracted a few times you can sell your freekit augment to the robot medic vendor for some green looting augments. Your handful of freekit extractions will have given you a small pile of grenades/healing items/shields/guns/bulleets too.

Go loot stuff. Explore the higher rarity loot zones (you might get shot. The objective is to familiarize yourself with the map).

There's two things:
1: The "stitcher" is really fucking overtuned right now. They don't need to aim well. Just point click and they'll tear you a new asshole in an eyeblink with their scrap gat. This weapon is available to freekits for some retarded reason that only god knows, so niggers are loading up with freekits and just bum rushing everyone nonstop. If you're good you can mow most of them down, but they just keep fucking coming and eventually one will probably get lucky. You don't even get any loot for killing them since all that they have is their freekit, some bandages, and their free scrap gat.

2: During large chunks of the day when the gamerdads are playing, the PC community is winning the fucking prisoner's dilemma and 99% of the time will be chill and non-combative. There can be tension in high loot zones, but it is pretty rare for people to extract camp. Complete strangers peacefully extracting together is an extremely common sight.

It's not uncommon for sweater lobbie to have the survivor extract with 8+ venators, this shit is crazy and it's impossible for the dev to ignore if they played or watched a stream more than 3 hours

I think that I'd enjoy that. I also think that I'd enjoy a Red vs Blue mode. Introduce a second city as a rival to Speranza. I think that it would be interesting having a large subset of players explicitly be your allies while the others are explicitly an enemy. Maybe throw in bonus rewards based on how lucrative your team's extractions were as a combined prize. Something like that was in the War Thunder April Fools event where they had a mad-max themed extraction shooter mode. Playing as part of a larger team has a different feel to it than squad deathmatch.

Narratively I think it would make more sense for players to be attacking each other if they were rival populations competing for resources. There's a huge narrative/gameplay disconnect right now in that we're all agents of Speranza and yeet we just merc each other non-stop as soon as we leave city limits.

I'm not at the level of worrying about the new events and shit.

Anons. Game devs have more statistics than "which gun got the most kills". For instance: They very very VERY likely, have data of which gun killed what other gun at what rate. Rate being important here. I did some quests on Dam at the tail end of the last matriarch event an hour or so ago and the entire time I heard constant gunfire and explosions as the matriarch was in the center of the map in that space between the two halves of the dam. Go to blue gate at night or a storm, go into the reinforced annex or whatever its called, the one with the cool loot room with like 2 security lockers. In that place, on the wall somewhere randomly, there will be 3 carriables, and you can deliver them to a door. It looks like a charging station, and they have red lights on the machine. I kind of have a problem with the cost scaling in this game. Low tier shit is viable; this is okay, maybe even good. High tier shit varies from kind of better to a fair bit better, but none of it is overwhelmingly stronger than the low tier shit. However, the costs of high tier, or even mid tier, shit absolutely balloons over the low tier shit. Even your basic Stitcher literally doubles in effective cost going from a Stitcher III to a Stitcher IV. Why? It gains a tiny bit of effectiveness for such a (relatively) massive cost. And then making any of the 'good' guns is exorbitantly expensive, orders of magnitude more than the humble Kettle III or IV which frequently performs just as well. This is consistent with every type of equipment with the possible exception of Wolfpacks which are still extremely strong for their increased cost.
I think this form of balancing is really weird and poorly thought out. Having all tiers be viable but the good stuff being noticeably, but not overwhelmingly, better is fine. Multiplying the costs for that meagre advantage by orders of magnitude isn't.

Just look at the secret bunker event- actually activating the antennas is a losing proposition 100% of the time. It wouldn't even be hard to fix. Add a repeatable quest reward for doing the majority share of the damage in an epic arc kill, or completing the primary objective on a puzzle event. Get ganked after investing 200k in a queen/matriarch fight? No biggie, here's a random pink+blue+green item a-la trial rewards.
