If you're getting shot across the map as Scorch on any map except Homestead that just means your positioning is bad and that you're not using cover to sneak up on titans. Always has been: poor weapon balancing, movement being inferior to camping, boring titan gameplay overall as well as in TvT and TvP + poor balancing in both, smart pistol, lol lmao even 20Hz tickrate and etc.

I think Monarchs are the worst when you have a team that doesn't bother taking them down before they get their upgrades. That battery thief execution really pisses me off too. I dunno how it is on PC, but on Xbox, in Titanfall 1 pretty much everyone uses the smart pistol and places arc traps everywhere. The gun balance is kinda better--even though I'm pretty sure they're still hitscan--because of the recoil, but that just means you aren't able to play like you do in TF2 and beam people from a distance while hipfiring. It's a real shame we'll never go back to the TF1 art design, TF2's looks too bright.

Well, conservation of momentum is the most complicated and important part of the movement system, you’ll have to learn some movement mechanics in order to move around without loosing speed. I recommend this video by bryonato https://youtu.be/C_cXYyA4LaU, although it’s a bit old, but it contains all of the most important and basic movement mechanics, when you get to the part where the lurch stuff is explained, I recommend you to watch this video by zweek https://youtu.be/AjPSwwnKm1o it explains in more detail how it works and also is a bit more entertaining.
You don't have to learn all the mechanics mentioned in the video, things like basic edge boost, basic end boost, half slides, extended slidehop and etc are a bit more niche and only help at a more advanced level in certain situations.
And don't try to learn even the most basic stuff on the first day, it takes time, only approach it when you're really interested so you don't burn out.

I can't tell what's best for you, but I started by finding two points on opposite ends of each other, tried to make some basic path that went through the hot spots on the map, then just made them more complex as I got better with the mechanics, like adding crouch kicks, tap strafes, half slides, learning how to get back to the original point without loosing as much speed.
The pros of this approach are that you know in advance what mechanics you’ll need to use and kinda force you to do something specific, so it helps you learn this stuff better, you could also understand how well you are performing right now and compare it to your previous runs. The cons are repetitiveness and predictability.

I vaguely remember someone mentioning on the /vg/ threads that I'd be able to play on a /g/-certified toaster if I made edits to the .ini (I think it was) for it to play on the shitiest settings. It's stim+smg or bust. Shotties work but the whole lobby is guaranteed to be using the same meta loadout, which means high damage full auto hitscan bullet hoses with no recoil, so you'll be working a lot harder for your kills.
Your shotty options are EVA-8, which is hitscan and therefore haram. Very good within its effective range but absolutely worthless when you're not shoving the barrel up someone's ass.
Or the Mastiff (my beloved), which is a fun but inconsistent piece of shit. You'll often leave enemies at 1hp despite blasting their face at point blank range. On the other hand it will often kill at hilarious ranges, especially if you ADS because that tightens the spread.

Yeah you can wreck an entire team with the EPG with any mode, if they're all really bad. With gen 100 EPG I think I understand how it fits in. Basically its slow projectile speed means it will lose against other fast killing weapons that have faster projectile or hitscan. It's because of that slowness inherent in the EPG that you have to be fast to make up for it. You have to outposition and predict your opponent to a degree that isn't really tenable against players who are your equal. They would have the same awareness, movement, and aim that you do so you aren't constantly shitting on them from above and behind.
It just physically takes longer to reach a target, even if it was standing still, than other guns can even kill you. You have to successfully predict your opponents with EPG but with these other weapons you can react, there's no dodging them. So other weapons kill both faster and more reliably. The splash damage doesn't make up for it. If you already have this kind of head start on your enemy you'll find frag grenades are more powerful and you don't have to trade off a good gun to use them.
I like the EPG, I just have no illusions about it being fair against the good guns in this game.

If you want to play on baby easy mode (and be an enormous faggot) you can just pick Stim, any SMG (extended mags and quick reload) and Monarch/Tone for the classic no-fun-allowed metanig loadout. Doing so is absolutely haram in /tfg/ but I assume you just want an easy time at first.
Once you shake off those cobwebs and want to actually have fun you can try Grapple + EPG or Cold War. Maybe go Holo for maximum memes and have fun rusing people.
If you like gambling you can roll dice with every shot by using the Mastiff. Kraber is great if your aim is decent. L-STAR is a good full auto gun if you want to use projectile weapons but with training wheels.

It is so common for people to say skill issue to any design issue in a game. Doesn't matter what game it is or how bad the issue is either.
IT doesn't even matter for this game because nothing will ever be fixed. For other games it can actually poison the well and give developers a distorted idea of how bad problems are and how they affect different types of players.
