All the servers fucking suck. I'd play it in a heartbeat if it had a server that operated in the same spirit as p99 or some of the good WoW pservers but no it's all ran by moneygrubbing slavs and turdies.

I did play signature to lvl 40 on a spoiler and a spellhowler. For me, L2 is better left as a memory when I had all the time in the world to grind. I do love the game though in the Prelude-Interlude era though.

Man, the only MMORPG I've played for thousands of hours. PvP was peak, raiding castles was peak, Boss raids was also peak. No other game of its genre came close to how good this one was.

There was a zzzchan clan going on two years ago to some degree of success. They even managed to get a clanhall in Gludio. But the clan leader was Russian and he was sent to the war, plus they didn't like 4channers.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't. There's a lot of complaining about people using auto-clickers to auto-attack via assist (most sane L2 players) at the moment and people have to manually report suspects, and admins have to manually check them. Allegedly.
It's doubly funny, because apparently in the past they said this is allowed as long as you're not AFK'ing with auto-clicker on, but now their stance has changed. Or maybe it didn't, I don't know really.
At least there's no retarded captcha every 15 minutes.

how could they fuck up so bad the changes related to boss drops from c4 to c5? Not only they made harder to kill them but they also cutted they item drop by 50% and the scroll drop 1 to 10.

There was a big problem back then, even in the Korean servers, about whole Chinese clans that were hardcore farming the raid bosses to sell the loot for $$$, not letting normal clans do that content. They were very annoying to do and melee/archer unfriendly, on top of that. That's why the smaller raid bosses were nerfed.

Started playing on Elmorelab Airin. Would be my ideal server if it weren't for the Russian infestation.

My friend is really into the server Scryde which is the most well put together one i've seen and also never does wipes which is nice. However, its still rather grindy even by Gracia private server standarts and while it does have a low rate variant i havent focused on that either. Every so often im tempted to join him for realsies but eventually it turns into a 2nd job and thats when it stops being fun for me, i just wanna play when i feel like it and not be forced to do stuff because if i dont i get left behind/kicked out of clans. Also sucks how low rate servers are nigh possible for solo players.

Sort of the same for me. Like i mentioned above the moment it turns into a 2nd job is just not worth it. I know Raids are spawning at specific times and all that but i dont want to be in constant worry that i will be removed from the clan if i miss a single raid. In short, while L2 is really fun, its not as easy-going for the solo player and everything goes better once you got people backing you up.

Leveling is the relatively easiest thing, the grind comes from gearing, the good thing with L2 is that you dont even have to go through the regular process of gearing, you can just buy the stuff from someone selling it, so long as you got the Adena for it so its a matter of which type of grinding you prefer, simply farming money or materials to craft the things yourself. As for the specific server, it has a healthy playerbase with no signs of stopping so give it a go.

That day I found something that wasn't supposed to be there... Not at that price at least... A Golkonda horn, someone was selling a Golkonda for 1kk. I imitatively bough it. What was even better, that this same day friends added me to party that was finishing killing a quest kind Golkonda and although I wasn't present at the location of it I got the quest horn.
So at the end of that day I had a Golkonda horn that I could use to sub class and a Golkonda horn that I could sell for 1kkk.

Elmorelab launched their x2 c1 server about two weeks ago. It will go through all the chronicles up to c5, possibly also interlude, and then merge with their x1 server Teon sometime at the end of 2025 or early 2026. If you're looking for the classic lineage 2 experience, this is the only viable option. The downside is that it's mostly russians and south american players there. I suppose you could check their english discord channel to look for non-spic players.

Also, Elmorelab's partner project Harbor is worth considering if you're looking for a chill server to play at your own pace. The rates are x1 but it will forever remain a C1 server, so there's no rush whatsoever. This is a decent option for people who want to experience the original game and its quirks but don't want to invest too much of their precious time on the mmo rat race. However, I should note that Harbor is customized to make it more enjoyable to play in the long-term, and is not actually equivalent to the original official server experience of 2004, although I doubt anyone here could tell the difference. For the old-school, hardcore, unbalanced, masochistic c1 to c5 experience the newly opened Airin x2 is a better option.

Is Harbor populated/active enough? A chill pace that doesnt rush to newer content is just what im looking for. This is one of two things i dislike with private servers, rollbacks and forcibly updating to next chronicles. Having a server that sticks around the same patch feels nice.

I loved the game when I was a child, I will never forget the big 200 v 200 fights for Baium or Antharas. But I couldn't play this today in any way, the nostalgia would hit me too hard. I've used deepseek to make picrel and onscreen translator using OCR. Latter was pretty wonky though as it also tries to translate nicknames and messes up the whole thing. There's probably a way though, I just did it as a quick experiment.

there are OCR screen readers that do that, but they have mixed results. iirc lineage2 keeps a chatlog in plain text in one of the folders, you could run a program to translate from that whenever it's updated, assuming it updates in realtime and not just on program close. I don't have l2 installed so I can't check for you.

Usually for me the max comfy is when a low rates starts and it's populated, parting from 20 to 40 is probably the most comfy ever, because you gotta grup up and do easy party stuff in cool locations and also the progess is relatively fast
