They canned making new events a while ago, it's pretty much only reruns at this point. They would also have to adjust the model for every single piece of armor. Feels like the Heavy-est assassin, I guess like how Orochi is the Vanguard-est assassin and Raider, for a long time, was the Heavy-est Vanguard.

Im trying to balance what I think is doable with what I actually want

first off nerfs

now to address the lack of viable opening moves
>speed up both of the celtic curse side cancels to be 533ms and lower their damage accordingly
>give Highlander a 433ms forward dodge bash that uses a similar startup animation to Celtic Curse, except Highlander just punches the opponent with his left fist. this would gurantee no damage, but would fast flow to Offensive Stance, giving Highlander a way to open up the opponent into OS from neutral

changes to Kick / Grab
>the kick to grab soft feint now functions the same way as Warden, Warmonger, Centurion, and Hitokiri's charged bashes (meaning change the timing a bit and slap hyperarmor onto the grab if it's used from a soft feint)
the above change makes it an actually viable soft feint instead of a useless gimmick only usable for OOS punishing

Current Shinobi is the least cancerous the character has ever been only now its actually playable instead of being a broken mess of invunerability frames and disgusting offscreen ganks.

Kyoshin and Hitokiri are more oppressive than Shaman, Warmonger, Gryphon and Varangian because of their strong ganks and pressure tools in 4v4s. Kyoshin is also effectively just weaboo Black Prior

There is nothing wrong with any of the Wu Lin except Jiang Jun because of how fucky his vunerability frames are

You can't have problems with Gryphon if you don't have problems with Medjay, Medjay is disgusting in 4v4s, same with Ocelotl as both heroes have moves specifcally to gank with that pin you, reset your hit stun and don't reduce follow up damage.

Kyoshin's basic moveset is 1 to 1's with Priors with only the zones being different, the key difference lies in how their full block stances work. But make no mistake both are oppresive but for different reasons. Prior is oppresive because counter prevents you from being able to freely use cleaving moves and because the unblockable heavy hits wide and further chains into follow up that can be recovery canceled into another UB heavy or the counter keeping the Prior relatively safe

Kyoshin is oppresive in ganks because every one of his fullblock options leads to a psuedo pin move via fujin cuts and because the top heavy is unblockable and has long range you can't really avoid the move too well if the Kyoshin is even slightly competant, they can just sit there in fullblock stance and hit you with any of the three options into fujin cuts every time you attempt offense, you need a team mate to peel for you.

I have played a little over 100 hours (total) in the past two years, all of it is vs AI, just casually with friends after work etc.
I really do enjoy the combat mechanics, but I am quite casual and wouldn't know the tricks and glitches (and I really don't feel like going full meta study either).
So would going into PVP be more fun or frustrating?
I accidentally queued into PvP one time a year ago and this one Warden player was able to kill me and others with super fast slash moves (I assumed it was some kind of animation cancel trick) and I decided then I'd just stick with AI, but now my friends don't play FH and I haven't in a while either, so its either uninstall or try PvP a little.

there's a variety of hero combos for ganks that can take a victim from 100 health to 0 before they're able to get revenge after making a SINGLE mistake (going for a parry and getting GBd)

oh and Nobushi is able to apply bleed through revenge shield
she is actually able to apply more bleed than the entirety of any character's full health pool
so once revenge ends they just die from bleed

you'll blink and all of a sudden you've got 40 bleed damage ticks and then you eat a 35 damage heavy (because Nobu gets something like 20% damage boost against bleeding targets)

a Nobushi + Shaman duo that knows what they're doing is a fuckin warcrime

You should know going in that the multiplayer is NOT perfectly balanced and some characters will be easier to pick up and play than others. When you try to play a character you just unlocked and then get dick flattened by some sweaty asshole, you might even be tempted to go leave a negative review.

Here's the facts

I haven't really played this game much since Chinese came out (which was 7 years ago, Christ) because new heroes look like shit and many of them were built exclusively around one shitty gimmick, though the last part may have changed. I think the game suffered a drop in quality and visual cohesion, although in exchange of actually sane timings on attacks.
It's still one of my fondest memories and I still drop by to check it out. The combat system is honestly genius translation of usual fighting game mechanics into 3D space, though at times the movesets are made by people sniffing glue, and majority of it's systems and monetization is a relic of Ubisoft's past when they weren't fully retarded, there's not even a premium currency - real money purchases like battle passes and paid skins were added halfway through the game's life and I feel they ruin the argument somewhat but most of that shit looks ass anyway.
At least some of the game's soul was ripped out along the way like minion kill animations and even the characters speaking in their own languages was neutered at some point because it was too expensive/impossible to rehire the same voice actors to do them, but it was also downright the most detailed game Ubisoft ever put out.
I would wholeheartedly recommend people try the game, especially it's half free every other sale, but the only thing that could really make it truly fulfill it's potential at this point is Ubisoft dying, releasing the patents behind the game and someone else doing it right this time.

This is only true for some of the base cast since they're voiced by big name VAs, the vast majority are either small time so have no issue comming back, like all of the Vikings even berserker because only enemy zerk was voiced by Stefan, or work for Ubi directly like the guy who does the voice for Conqueror and Male Hitokiri. Out of all of Ubisoft’s catalogue this game still lingers in my mind of a great example of how to make an approachable fighting game. If they refine it, add more PvE mini games for the casuals/30+ year olds (me), and carry the roster over to a second game it seems like a winner.
