I setup a server. Right now it's on a normal campaign.
Here's are the biggest mods in it.

Baroverhaul
Neurotrauma + Extensions
Dynamic Europa
Vanilla Weapons Overhaul
Barotraumatic + Creature pack
Community curated sub pack

Plus some other bug fixes and QoL stuff.
Client side lua is required.
134.195.91.77

If I have some time this weekend I'll try to organize a game.

I'm personally not a fan of Neurotrauma. By default, a bump in the sub will cause everyone to break or dislocate one of their limbs, and subsequently have a heart attack. Sure, you can fine tune it to not be horrific to play with, but fundamentally I just don't think it is necessary. Otherwise, this is a fairly good list of mods. That being said, I would recommend some flavor mods just to keep things interesting, or mods that enhance a certain playstyle you want to have.

It depends on the feel that you are going for in your campaign, like with the group I play with we have campaigns built around a certain central theme like a traitor campaign with a black market economy, a pirate campaign where we can only trade with pirates, or a scrapper campaign where we try to survive off of scrapping and selling ships. And so we would add mods that fit into the theme and enhance the gameplay. That being said, we play the game a lot so we do that sort of thing to keep the game interesting, so if you and your friends are somewhat newer to the game then a generic modded campaign can be good fun. In which case I would recommend stuff like hazardous reactors (makes dealing with reactors more interesting), hungry europans (adds food and drinks, can either make is necessary to eat and drink or just use it as role play), more level content (see more unique locations), immersive ignitables (Adds stuff you can set on fire), Special jobs/roles, music mods, etc. You can mod the game to play any way you want it to, there are many mods to choose from. I'm a bit tired right now, but if you want more mods let me know tomorrow. Also, make sure you pick a good sub, nothing too overpowered, and appropriate in size for the amount of players.
>>1729636
Make sure you trust who you are playing with, it is very easy to grief with Real Sonar. At the flick of a switch a whole diving crew is dead and everyone has tinnitus.

>hazardous reactors
we tried enhanced reactors. burned through way too much fuel in the early game, engineer got sick quickly even with hazmat suit, and we didn't know what to do with depleted fuel rods that were rapidly filling up shielded storage.
>hungry europans
cool concept but it's still unfinished, only works with vanilla creatures, and requires custom subs for a kitchen. it needs a remake.

got the rest of those mods already. using vanilla and community curated subs for now until we get bored of those.

Can't say I ever had those problems with hazardous reactors, not sure that I've ever played with enhanced reactors. In hazardous you just have to keep an eye on the reactor's repair level, if it gets too low it will start leaking radiation, and then when the fuel is out you put it into a rod storage and eventually dump the rod outside the sub. Fair enough with hungry europans, the guy that hosted our campaigns had to go through some effort to custom design subs in order to fit in a kitchen, was fun though.

I could live with the other problems if the reactor didn't need 4 rods minimum to run. That's just too much early game. Enhanced reactors has compatibility patches for all the other mods we're using so it was the obvious choice.

Yeah that's a bit odd, seems like that is an odd choice exclusive to enhanced reactors. I'm pretty sure that hazardous reactors would work with that mod list, but then again I wasn't the one hosting campaigns so I don't know. And I get if you and your friends are a bit put off after playing with, what sounds to me like, a garbage mod.

Played it years ago and had fun, but it kind of runs like ass the more you mod and play in a file.
Heard they gutted their storage system because they couldn't optimize the shear amount of bins you need for the stuff you collect through missions.
Not really interested in trying it again, but it was an enjoyable game.

Always wished they added rotation as a factor in their steering and ideally buoyancy, but the game ran bad enough as is and probably was just too locked in on their old code.

Years ago, stack limit was 8 per slot. Now it was increased to 32 for cabinets (characters are still limited to 8 per stuff in most cases).
Unfortunately, this did not solve the issue imo. Now instead of needing an unreasonable amount of boxes lying around, you only need a huge amount.
You can always mod something in to solve the storage issue. From a larger stack size per slot to being able to craft more cabinets in a fabricator.
Also, yes: The optimization issues were and still are an issue.

In spite of all of this, it is a fun game ngl

Before you would normally put suitcases in the cabinet, items inside the suitcases, and each slot in the cabinet would be occupied with suitcases. Nowadays they limited the amount of suitcase. slots to 5 for a large cabinet, and 3 for a medium. In return, the items now stacking from 8 to 32.

I wonder how will that work. Will you buy individual rooms and make a Frankenstein like the current outpost generation? Or will they be a static hull which you can upgrade like the submarines?
How will the missions work? My guess is that you will be the one offering missions to get resources and attract submarines to trade once they dock.
>Gardening and Cybernetics
Hopefully these are integrated to already existing classes. I don't see how you can justify an entire class around gardening and simultaneously gate clowning inside a single talent tree (while cultists have mod their way in)
Cybernetics has the potential to be its own class, but I think it can work well enough inside a medic, mechanic or engineer talent tree. Hell, maybe the 3 of those could have a talent tree that approach cybernetics in their own unique way

You man a submarine that must go from point A to point B while doing a certain mission along the way
In order for the submarine to carry on its task, every man must have clear roles. Navigation, Energy Control, Maintenance, Reloading Weapons, Gunnery, Medical checkups, etc... All of them should be covered.
The reality is that people (specially at the start) don't know anything and things go south really fast. Overcoming such hardships despite not being prepared for the unknown is what makes this game great. Any player will tell you that their best experience was that time when X thing went terribly wrong, but they managed to get to the end by sheer willpower and brothership.
The "funny moment yootoob" is part of the game in the sense that someone will either make a mistake or someone will sabotage something on purpose, creating the chaos which make the good stories.
Ngl, this game requires a special kind of autism to be enjoyed. And a group that shares the same strain of 'tism. If you have the traits and get such a group, you're going to have a good time. Otherwise, it will be just a meh or okay experience

I did campaign with some friends. We generally work really well together, but we do fuck up sometimes. At one point, our engineer was just mass-crafting nuke shells, which we used on basically anything bigger than a crawler. Several times, the weapons officer just shot without thinking or missed and detonated the nuke point blank, vaporizing like half the boat. Recovering from those was fuckin great.
