Went to my favorite blacksmith and "respect bow" emoted at her before I meekly asked for a rando mythic cache. Pic rel is what she made me (I emoted "thank you" a bunch of times at her afterwards and respectfully bowed again for good measure)
Now my HC rogue is running around with shako, starless skies ring (I was hoarding it until I got the shako), and doombringer with max life GA. I'm feelin a little sweaty, because one small internet disconnect or blizz server snafu, and that could be the end of this lil rogue.

The secret is cultivating a good relationship with a blacksmith; for me, it's the Zarbinzet blacksmith. I communicate my needs to her during the tempering and masterworking process with the appropriate emotes. I feel this has translated into her crafting better mythic caches for me over time with our personal understanding.
For real tho, I had legit nightmares last night of people dying in front of me in HC. If I somehow randomly die wearing these THREE MYTHICS idk what I'm going to do. Need to stockpile extra mythics!! I guess the lunge earthquake barb has been kind of fun and feels hella tanky especially with the Tyrone's on--anyone take this barb build into T4 yet? And I have 3 extra HC chars that could still reach bulletin board cache, so that's 3 sparks at least right there.
Never engaged in trade at all in this game, but last night, I admit I did on HC realm to get some more gold. I guess people die and need replacement gear, so even the not-so-great stuff sells. Made 150 mil last night selling a kepeleke and a spiritborn ring--no idea if that was competitive price or not, guess I should research that today. People were saying the prices for gear on HC aren't as much as SC, but who knows: advice appreciated so I don't get JEWED
BTW if that fren from yesterday wants powerlevel, just hit me up, I'll be on all morning and could use a break from being afraid of death.

So I'm kinda stuck in T3. I cannot for the fucking life of me get to resist/armor cap (I can cap armor with incense). The Tormented bosses (or whatever the bosses that require items to loot) absolutely fucking rape me but I can do everything else in T3.

Whats the best way forward. I need to generate tons of ancestral legendaries to try and find some with resists to fix my defense cap without gaping my already kinda iffy offense.

Are you doing homebrew or following a guide? What class?
If you're doing rogue, you don't cap those things anyway--just make sure your shrouds are stacked to 5 for damage reduction and keep concealment going.
Ancestral legendaries: the caches you get from the bulletin board or belial kills for ancestral uniques.

Between this post and now i sent a few legendary tribute undercities and got a pair of resist pants so now with incense I am 900 armor and 64-72% resist which I'd imagine might be ok enough.

>Use dance of knives build to level (or after powerlevel to collect manuals and glyphs on T1)
>Once you get the uniques and manuals (and obducite) for deathtrap, make the change over and masterwork your gear on some things
The deathtrap build is ez to do: poison imbue your dash, dash around, cast conceal and deathtrap right after each other on mobs, dash to next mob, repeat.
You have to get some breakpoints to make it start to pop off tho: cooldown reduction for deathtrap is important (ranks to core skills and ultimate skills helps this).
If you want to max out what the build can do, you need to crit the masterwork on aftermath to get it to 11 ranks (275 resource); this will fill your banished lords amulet completely each time. Or I think you can use Zan Xan runes for the same basic effect.
Get max life everywhere. Do billions of damage all over the place. It's pretty EZ.
It's important to get your momentum to 10 stacks and shroud to 5 stacks before fighting in the thick of things--like bosses. I had someone invite me to party so I could kill Belial for them on T4, and it was fine with my stacks: Belial died in a second. But then I ported to town and came back in (need to get stacks built up again) and they summoned as soon as my feet ported in: we all died ofc (on softcore, so nbd).
Someone posted on hc chat tonight "I just RIP to grigoire, why? I'm a rogue" and I bet you 1bil gold that he just walked into the arena and summoned without bothering to get his stacks up. Momentum -> damage reduction (and lots of other things). Dark shroud -> damage buffer.

Yeah I did all that stuff on HC many seasons ago for the heck of it. Was riding around the map collecting altars and ran into a stronghold back when they were locked at certain high levels: got one shot to a lvl 50 monster and RIP.
I wonder tho: if you make an eternal realm HC character (cringe, I know, but bear with me), can you go to that person in Kyovashad and get the "welcome back boost" that unlocks all the map stuff for you?? Newfrens just start out as "recruit", idk that is the default. If they join and never post in chat ever and says they've been offline for 6 months or whatever, then they stay as recruit, lurking in the shadows, which they are probably ok with.

T4 apparition events give a lot of gem fragments. I think I did apparitions to collect the boss powers back on normal tier and then just forgot the whole thing. Took a peek there on T4 today and picked up a surprising amount of gem fragments.
Bonus is that you get the ashes too and can turn them into a purple spark.

Playing D4 Eternal. Just hit Torment III at 187 Paragon and it feels like I've hit a wall for progress. XP gain is agonisingly slow and ladder bosses are 1-shotting me so gear progression is essentially halted. Am I being retarded and missing something or is this just the grind now?

Past Torment 1 most bosses have 1 or more instakill mechanics. If you are getting 1 shot by attacks that don't have any kind of telegraph or AoE markers check your defenses. You should be hovering around 1k armor and 72% resists. Don't forget you get starting resistance penalties on higher torments too so if you were capped at T2 you might not be in T3.

How much better is the mythic drop rate past t1?

Who here is playing sorc this season?
I made a sorc, doing a frozen orb/lightning build, got myself into T4 in HC so 0 deaths and taking it cautiously. Don't have all my stuff masterworked fully yet (most stuff is like 8/12, got primordial 3x on gloves tho randomly), because I'm still deciding if I want to stick with it or not, but all the mobs die ez. Bosses tho.... those take time. And I haven't played sorc since a couple seasons ago when the frozen orb/lightning spear conjurations weren't capped out and it was super fun. Things are different now: the enlightenment skill passive. Am I trying to cast skills in a certain order to get that stack up all the time or..?? And how does that meld with the tal rashas? Can someone explain to me the functioning bits so that I can understand it? Because in hc I'm making adjustments here and there to account for survivability, so I'd really like to know what I can play around with.
Also I wish there was a "fast pit tier" build list, because I don't care at all about pushing pits. I just want something fast and ez for repetitive pit grinding forever. And yes, I am missing the infinite cataclysm druid from last season.

Man I've been trying to figure it out too regarding enlightenment. I had a significant power jump switching from orb lightning to mekuna's lightning spear build.

But bosses still take a while in tier 80ish pits AND I can literally get one shot through ice armor if I'm fighting andy/duriel etc. I have the damage but their dumb forced invincibility mechanics can kill me super easy. Same with phantom bosses or whatever in pits, those can kill me ez too. And yeah I'm armor/res capped.

Yeah but for thorns to work, the enemy has to hit you, and some of them (rattle shaking demons, feared enemies) or inanimate destructible things don't hit you. I ended up bailing before finishing the season. Season was okay but I just wasn't getting into it and I'm afraid that will keep being the case if every season is just "Here's the new rep grind and funky powers". Picked up Last Epoch and I'm enjoying it but I'm still not sure if I like it more than D4. Certainly better in some respects but I'm not sure that after I've got a few hundred hours of it like D4 if it'll improve like D4 did or make the cracks show up clearer. It is amazingly even easier and more casual than D4 though despite having more build depth which is nice in the sense that it feels like every class has a bunch of viable builds

Just asking, because you said you just started playing, so I'm not sure if you know that you have to do a special rogue dungeon to unlock rogue class skill specialization (or whatever term they use for it). If you did the dungeon already when you were past lvl 15, then you should have preparation (the bottommost option) selected.

I could kiss you right now. I did the dungeon but didn't realize you could change the specialization, I just assumed the build(s) i was using never bothered with combo points. This is mostly because I played a Sorc first and you didn't need to fiddle with it, just slot in your passives.

This brought me from 15s CD to auto-refresh/2s remaining (Which makes sense when you factor in im not technically at my threshold yet) and made my T45 Pit runs go from 4mins to 1min.

Yeah you go talk to an imp in town and get insta-lvled to 300 and a ton of caches with uniques, mythics, ancestrals, runes, mats, etc.
Then just set things up and run around and try things out.
The masterworking on uniques was fine, but every time I tried to masterwork a legendary, it would masterwork crit multiple things multiple levels higher.
Anyway the new NMD thing is pretty fun. The season gems are pretty cool. The season "catalyst" things are kind of dumb, but I've only started to play around with it.

I've never done the actual campaign, I'm like an hour into it, my character is an Eternal character from before "Seasonal" was even a thing you had to select when making a new character. Can an Eternal character become Seasonal or a Seasonal character be moved to Eternal? Does it matter?

It feels like Seasonal characters are throwaways, they have no grounding in the actual campaign. I started a new Sorceror last night for the first time for the hell of it and it was Seasonal without knowing what it was (it's seasonal by default) and it just dropped me in a grindy, looty sandbox essentially, at the first starting city.

Anyway call it autism or whatever but I do intend on playing the campaign even if everyone has told me it's shit because, well, I paid for it.

Yeah it's actually fun in HC. There isn't as much gold duping, so the trade economy is a lot better/cheaper. People die and lose stuff permanently, so there's more opportunities to trade people stuff you have laying around that they need to re-gear. And with 5 HC chars this season all leveled up to paragon250, I didn't die a single time. Pit glitched out/froze once and I successfully scroll of escaped out of there. Maybe they fixed dying to computer crash tho? There have been reports of people crashing and coming back to being in the middle of random place in the map--but not dead! Less leeches in HC, but the most deaths I've seen was at world boss of underleveled retards. Killing uber Lilith on HC and surviving was a real adrenaline rush tho especially with the new unskippable phases, so I highly recommend that one.

The new gloves were super strong in PTR and they buffed it a lot, its the new optimal way to play minions now. You can easily make your mages immortal and they can generate perma barrier and fortify for you even without Soulrift, if there aren't any bugs that negatively affect the build it will be the best build for Necro along with BW

Werebear druid got a new pulverize weapon which spawns poison puddles that does big poison damage around it every time you slam down. You dont have to play pulverize or werebear with this weapon but it looks super good. Overpower mechanic got nerfed massively but other parts of druids kit got buffed to match. So you have a few other builds if you dont want to do pulverize but just want to walk around as a werebear. Might be the perfect time for werebear druid

The concept of seasons just doesn't make sense to me. Just continue to update the game and add evergreen systems. No one enjoys them slapping together a different form of the same borrowed power season after season. Redo the talent twigs, add a paladin, make a proper endgame. These are what most players want I think.

Le powers are the only reason for seasons they have right now. There's no leaderboard, no SSF mode, and if you want to start fresh you can just make a new character. Whatever time they're spending on powers is wasted and should be going towards things that will actually make the game better.

I honestly think the cosmic anomaly + floaty bobble + chain lightning zapping the player all around the place is a glitch. Like.. chain lightning doesn't mean the PLAYER is a chain lightning, so no idea why the player would move around with the lightning lol. Reminds me of when the dolmen stone first came out: you'd have all these boulders circling you, and then sometimes YOU would start circling around the screen along with the boulders...
You could always try the ball lightning walking death build that the other anon was speaking of! It's really the goofy things like this that makes the game worth playing.

i use hurricane and lightning storm and this on my weapon >>1837000 so i'm using companions and have a lot of random lightning bolts going off. i just added another aspect that makes my lightning storm/bolt crits spawn dancing bolts AND my wolves just became werewolves so they have 100% more damage even though they're already deleting everything in expert

my wolf active resets all the time from critical strikes so i can just about spam it on single targets, and packs just get rolled

I try to kill blood maiden, but my chains of lightning bounce me to across the map and when I try to teleport back, the chains of lightning take me whereever the heck they want--usually not where I want to go. Not sure how I'll get that "kill X enemies while max helltide threat before hellborn", because I can't be contained inside the spire circle!!

My rogue and necro feels especially squishy this season. armor res capped, full barrier and fortify, 10k HP, with a good amount of DR, and I still get one tapped by random ground effects and boss swipes. Maybe playing overpower builds with 40k HP for months rotted my brain
